Hello, my name is Christian Taylor on behalf of Chronostore.com and today I’m showing you how a timegrapher assists our watchmakers when performing complicated services such as chronograph repairs. A timegrapher itself electronically measures how fast or slow the overall health of the movement functions by automatically examining the swing of the balance wheel once its set on the timegrapher’s stand.
Similar to the simplicity of water testing, the movement is set between the clamps, which begins displaying the beat rate, amplitude and beat-errors within the movement, helping them determine how accurately it keeps time. Then its examined as needed and removed to be worked on further or put back in the watch. Honestly, It’s that simple.
