AURORA BOREALIS AND THE ISS OVER CRATER LAKE

Brad Goldpaint of Goldpaint Photographycaptured this amazing image of the aurora borealis and the International Space Station streaking over Crater Lake, Oregon, USA. Goldpaint drove to Crater Lake National Park on the night of May 31, 2013 to photograph the Milky Way as it rose above the crater rim. About 11pm he s

Once at the edge of the caldera, Goldpaint set up a time-lapse sequence and watched the colours in the sky dance until sunrise. The moon rose around 2am, adding a faint glow. The last image in the sequence shows the route of the International Space Station (ISS), which flew over at 2:35am.
