Batman turns around. A domino masked Batman, an-out-of-armor Batman, a sweaty Batman, a hot Batman… What?! Barry means a less intimidating Batman even with the scowl.

The Batman in front of them stood tall and pushed his bangs up his forehead then cocked his head and placed a loose hand on his hip, he breathed a little heavily.

“B, be nice.“ Nightwing says. Batman slowly turns and stares at his eldest (according to Wally’s stories.) “Black Bat says, smile more. So smile more.” Nightwing says, grinning.

Batman does something Barry’d never thought he would see. Beside him, Hal almost squeaks. 

Batman turns back to them and smiles. Not the smirk he does on the battlefield when someone asks if he’s actually going to do something unbelievably irrational. It felt like the skin-tingling smile he aimed at villains mixed with something softer like when something funny happens with his kids. It didn’t quite reach his eyes, not that they’d know, it made him entrancing.

Xue Yang, resident fanboy

How lucky is it (for Jin Guangyao) that Xue Yang was never sent to the Burial Mounds as a spy?

Xue Yang, the original Yiling Patriarch fanboy, who looks at all the cosplayers hawking around town and decides they're all pathetic amateurs.

Xue Yang, who marches straight to the Burial Mounds, crashes face first at the wards, and keeps trying until someone lets him in.

Imagine him doing the equivalent of a cat bringing its owner dead birds by trying to raise corpses to impress Wei Wuxian.

Imagine also the bone deep terror Wen Qing inspires to demonic cultivators.

Xue yang: I'm not afraid of anything

Imagine Xue Yang, who was sent there to spy (and maybe murder, he hasn't made up his mind) on Wei Wuxian and the Wen but, who, with all the loose screws he has rattling in his head, gets attached to people who treat him nice. And then he gets protective. In a deeply fucked up way but still! Can you imagine him meeting Jin Zixun under these circumstances?

He tags along to the one month celebration for Jin Ling and when they get ambushed and Wei Wuxian is doing his usual 'shit memory who dis' thing, you have the smaller gremlin in the background taking turns frothing at the mouth at the audacity and providing commentary at every chance he gets until Jin Zixun has an aneurysm through sheer frustration.

Jin Guangyao would like to spin it into a "demonic cultivation induced qi deviation" but he's met Xue Yang. That's just the Xue Yang effect.

@sswangxian this is how I'm coping with work raising my blood pressure from now on. Every time they do it, I will cleaning up one more nugget.

I just realized this, but in The Burning Bridge, Gilan says he is the most junior Ranger in the Corps.

We know that he is roughly 25-26 years old because Rangers graduate at 20 years old (based on comments made by Will in Erak's Ransom) and Pauline says that it has been 5-6 years since Gilan left Halt at the end of his apprenticeship.

Which means that for 5-6 years, no Ranger had a graduating apprentice.

In all of Araluen. Not one.

I don't know why, but this knowledge feels surprisingly important.

Soooo...I may have started a little something. Well, I definitely did, since the open document is currently sitting at 5k and showing few signs of stopping. And while I could ask a dozen questions, I may just poke some of you for answers. But my big one is something I’m curious about and would like to hear from anyone who’s listened to Serenity. Spoilers beware! We are always struggling to place the books, BBC radio dramas, and now the Big Finish stories into the utterly incoherent Torchwood timeline that repeatedly fails to make sense. Some are more obvious than others, while some could be anywhere, including an alternate universe for all we know. And there is no question that way too much goes down in too short a period of time.  I figured Serenity was set during series 2 as I was listening to it. But the timeline at clivebanks.co.uk puts it right before series 3 - after Tosh and Owen are dead, and even after Outbreak! WTH? I’m thinking a later series 2 makes more sense than early since Jack and Ianto do seem fairly comfortable together, and to send them off playacting married bliss not long after Jack returns and they start dating doesn’t seem in character for where they are in the story. But Ianto does say something about Jack checking in with the team, not Jack checking in with Gwen, so I do believe the others are around. Plus Jack and Ianto are not going to run off and leave Gwen on her own after Tosh and Owen leave them! So late series 2 but before Tosh and Owen die. So Owen is probably dead, yeah?  I wrote a story after Fall To Earth and set it series 2 when it was probably set series 1, so I want to get this one a little closer to whatever they intended.  Don’t be surprised if I have more questions like this. The story itself is practically pouring out, but vague details from the audio drama may need some clarification. Thanks!
