How lucky is it (for Jin Guangyao) that Xue Yang was never sent to the Burial Mounds as a spy?

Xue Yang, the original Yiling Patriarch fanboy, who looks at all the cosplayers hawking around town and decides they're all pathetic amateurs.

Xue Yang, who marches straight to the Burial Mounds, crashes face first at the wards, and keeps trying until someone lets him in.

Imagine him doing the equivalent of a cat bringing its owner dead birds by trying to raise corpses to impress Wei Wuxian.

Imagine also the bone deep terror Wen Qing inspires to demonic cultivators.

Xue yang: I'm not afraid of anything

Wwx: just you wait, kid

Wen qing: *needles*

Xue yang: 😨

Imagine Xue Yang, who was sent there to spy (and maybe murder, he hasn't made up his mind) on Wei Wuxian and the Wen but, who, with all the loose screws he has rattling in his head, gets attached to people who treat him nice. And then he gets protective. In a deeply fucked up way but still! Can you imagine him meeting Jin Zixun under these circumstances?

He tags along to the one month celebration for Jin Ling and when they get ambushed and Wei Wuxian is doing his usual 'shit memory who dis' thing, you have the smaller gremlin in the background taking turns frothing at the mouth at the audacity and providing commentary at every chance he gets until Jin Zixun has an aneurysm through sheer frustration.

Jin Guangyao would like to spin it into a "demonic cultivation induced qi deviation" but he's met Xue Yang. That's just the Xue Yang effect.

@sswangxian this is how I'm coping with work raising my blood pressure from now on. Every time they do it, I will cleaning up one more nugget.

Do you know a source for a good, labeled map of Eos and Lucis? After reading your fihrie posts & fic, I'm toying with a 'what would happen if Nyx and friends met an injured mermaid' plot bunny. I'm now tracking down Lucis' geography, Galahd's actual location, and when Galahd was invaded timeline-wise. Right now it's a nebulous mash up of Aquaman/Pirates 4/Atlantis ideas for the homo mermaid species (affectionately nicknamed 'Our Salty Neighbors')

That being said:

Sadly, I don't really have a good labeled map of Lucis. Every time I need one, I end up frantically looking one up on google for 15mins. XD

What I can say to Galahd's 'actual' location is that it's a bit of a mess. No one really knows where it is. The devs once indicated that it's the island group to the north east of Insomnia, I think.

I myself started my worldbuilding before anyone knew much more about Galahd than the pictures Nyx has pinned on his memory wall. So I just kind of put Galahd between the continents Lucis and Niflheim, the islands close to the Lucian continent. Since they look kinda big enough to support a whole nation.

(But I'm also a total a-hole and kind of, maybe, totally put more islands there. Because creative freedom. Yay!)

The timeline for the Galahdian invasion is also a bit of a nightmare. We know Nyx owned a bar with Libertus in Galahd, and on his memory wall Nyx has a letter from his sister congratulating him to his 20th birthday. In Kingsglaive Nyx is 32, so my best guess is the invasion happened sometime around the time when Tenebrae was conquered. Which was 12 years before canon.

That's my take on this. Please note that this stuff is still discussed in fandom, and while we mostly agree on some things, the details are very much up in the air and you can pretty much do what you want.
