I usually don't do world quest chain summaries but I have never been as incensed by an NPC as tirzad
SPOILER ALERT JUST IN CASE
So I've just finished golden slumber in like a day, and I wanna I loved it, was great the exploration, the puzzles, jebrael, jeht, Benben and of course, TiRzAd!!! That motherfucker wow!!!
no npc's, character's or anything ever had so far managed to awaken such an ungodly amount of pure rage in me, i swear, if i could have i would have wrecked that neck but alas I can't I'll just to imagine it really hard and pass my nerves on bosses I guess, I'll imagine tirzad in their places or not at least the bosses don't seem to be racist contrary to professor racism over there and he was so, so condescending, it made me grind my teeth, never happened to me before, it's awful, eurgh.
There should be a clause in all video games. If I am forced to deal with a racist character, I should have the option to kill them.
Just finished the golden slumber world quest and now I'm so fcking crushed, Jeht is such a likable NPC it was so saddening seeing her go from this very happy go lucky girlie to 'sht my dad died'. Wish she got a vision as well.
Tirzad was a mtherfcker who was a piece of sht until the very end. He didn't reflect at all.
WIP Time!
I thought it was high time I let you know I'm still alive! So! Here's an excerpt from my current WIP, the title for which I've yet decided. For context, it's basically a revamp of my own fic in the searing sands, so it obviously strays from canon where everyone lives and Tirzad is a BAMF. I will not be told off from fixing canon. Anyway!
Excerpt from "and then thy demons ruleth not thy desolate heart":
“Do you think they’ll be back?” Tirzad found himself asking anxiously. Jebrael seemed to regard him for a moment. It felt both unfair and unsettling how his mask concealed any emotion that could have painted his face, but for all that even his mouth seemed dreadfully inexpressive. To Tirzad’s dismay, the sigh Jebrael released held some amount of impatience, bordering on a huff. “The ruins go ever-deeper. There is no ‘going back’, only pressing forward.” And was that not why Tirzad often regretted choosing him over his many other, certainly less brusque-mannered candidates? Tirzad was the one to huff, clearly appalled. He tried to think of something to say in retaliation, but his inexperience with these things made him bite his tongue. He placed his pack down and began rummaging through his things, procuring his trusty journal and a pen from its leathered depths. Only when he sat down to begin sketching a map of the areas they’d covered thus far did he think to open his mouth again. “You’d think of watching your tongue next time, once I’ve decided that Aether proves to be a better guide than you are,” he said pointedly.
Spoilers for Genshin Impact Golden Slumber:
I literally just dealt with this with Dunyarzad. The difference — Jebrael isn’t actually coming back! 😢 This little chain of quests wasn’t even voiced, yet I loved Jabrael and Jeht and even Benben. Now Jabrael is goooone!!
Also came to no surprise that I hate(d) Tirzad. I don’t even care that he “got better” cause I still feel like he is really judgmental and honestly half his problem with Jabrael was just pure racism (that’s most of Sumeru though).
you know how teppei is a really cool npc and we learned to care for him and cried for him? yeah well tirzad is like the exact opposite, if I was the traveler I would have thrown him off a cliff looooobg ago
