I'm already on the Terminal Velocity ship but wouldn't mind hearing your rambles anyway

yes!! i will gladly ramble about them (also heres a little doodle because i will take any excuse to draw them)

they met while Mike was on a book hunt and Oliver still worked at his occult shop (mike was already working for the vast, but he still tried to find other books)

previous to Oliver, Mike didn't really date or care for romance, sex, anything really. maybe the occasional heated makeout session with a stranger but it stopped there very abruptly because he hated going further

Mike wasn't sure what it was about Oliver but he found himself visiting his shop frequently just to make up some excuse to talk to him

Oliver started walking him home, and it took many.. many, many times before Mike finally invited him into his home. Mike being a very private person of course, but once they started talking more on a personal level, mike talked about working for the Vast, and Oliver talked about his death dreams and visions.

the two were rather nervous to start any sort of relationship in the beginning, but it was clear they had feelings for each other. (and well, once Oliver asked Mike if he could kiss him, Mike's heart beat in a way he never thought was possible)

the two mostly just go to Mike's place, especially as Oliver's dreams get far more intense and overwhelming, and the worst part for him is that he enjoyed it. he enjoyed the feeling that the impending End of others brought to him.

Mike's go-to way to calm Oliver down is by throwing the both of them into the Vast hand-in-hand, letting Oliver scream out his frustrations and release all his tension.

Mike experiences a lot of chronic pain, some days worse than others, and Oliver is very very patient with him and will sometimes check on him out of the blue to see if he's doing okay

they never talk to each other through the phone, never even asked for each other's phone number. Oliver appears when he appears, and mike is home when he's home. however, the closer the get, the more often Oliver checks if Mike's home and the more mike sticks around or lets Oliver know when he is going out of town

Oliver isn't able to make money through his visions besides when he occasionally slips his predictions into a tarot reading at his shop. so, he still has to work. mike however, due to working with the Vast has been on good terms with the Fairchilds, especially Simon. Simon basically just employs Mike to work for their "master", the Vast. Simon has accumulated so much wealth through the years due to his tax fraud in the early days, so Mike never worries about his next "paycheck".

Oliver dealt with frequent panic attacks pre-Point Nemo, and Mike suffered from constant memory loss. The two are very patient with each other

When Oliver sees that death tendril wrapping around Mike's throat and then piercing through his forehead, he knew that Mike would be dying soon. Mike didn't want to know, but he still saw the way Oliver looked at him that day. Thus being so nervous about the Archivist wanting to come visit and making sure that he came alone.

Oliver decides to go to Point Nemo not only because of the peace and quiet, but to also get closer to the Vast, after Mike's death. He can't deal with the tendrils anymore and wishes to seek comfort by throwing himself into the emptiest place he could be. Post-transformation gave him an overwhelming sense of calmness and understanding of what he had to do from now on. He still misses Mike, though, more than anything. The End is now the closest way he can be to him.

I loooove AUs where Mike is dug up by Oliver. In my mind, it would make logical sense for the Web to still encourage Oliver to "die" at Point Nemo, dig up Mike and bring him back with his new found abilities, and then Mike becomes some sort of. Weird mix between the End and the Vast. Feeding both.

Simon is TERRIFIED of Oliver. This man has been living for centuries he absolutely does not want to piss off an avatar of the End or even come close to him. Mike invites Oliver to a Fairchild+Mike dinner and Simon is very fidgety the entire time. He's nice but then eager to get out of there as soon as possible. "Welcome to the family, Oli!" and then dips lmao.

Oliver calls Mike "Mikey/my Mike"

Mike trusts Oliver so much in their relationship that he's far more comfortable with cuddles and sex as well, though he may need to feed extra afterwards because the Vast does not like people being in such close proximity. (Though in an AU where Mike is dug up as mentioned previously, the Vast could be "fond" of the End's avatar for bringing him back)

Oliver calls Mike cute a lot because of how short he is. Mike cannot get mad at this. Mike will however threaten anybody else.

Mike hates Graham with a passion. Whether he knows that Graham died to a Not!Them or not, he would really like to kill the guy himself. Oliver finds it very adorable.

Mike likes to make sure Oliver eats, even if he's not the best cook, he does like to provide for Oliver when he comes over.

These two are each other's comfort. Each other's rock. It's no wonder Oliver spiraled so much after Mike's death, as much as it was planned by the Web. Mike would've spiraled too if Oliver died first, but that's not exactly what happened.

And of course, Oliver dresses very, very cool. Mike however looks like he threw on the first thing he saw and walked out of the house like that.

hi i was wondering if you had any terminal velocity hcs (also I **love** your art, the way you colour is just [unintelligible noise] /vpos)

Blam triple threat TY FOR THE KIND COMPLIMENT!!! I really love the coloring part the best so im so glad you took to that alot!!

I have a couple scattered around my terminal velocity tag. Here’s some more!

- Oliver doesn’t sleep sometimes (his sleeping schedule is less a schedule and more some online wheel spinner) and likes to lay his hand on Mike’’s chest as he falls asleep so Oliver can watch and feel his pulse get ever slower and slower and he revels in both the undeniable pulse and the thin line he equates sleep to.

- Mike likes to travel. In fact he will actually go ballistic if in one place too long. Sometimes he says he just doesn’t know how to sit still. Oliver is content to follow 5am travel whims. Mike senses coming storms and chases them. His nighttime melts to his patron too, and when a storm approaches, the rumbles enter the background of his dreams. His eyes snap open in the middle of the night and shakes Oliver awake, who nods as they both dress quickly and pack for a drive.

- Mike fucking loves his car. Its kind of embarrassing how much money has gone into the old vintage machine but it’s a nice clean design minus the rainbow led lights under the rims. He didnt name the car but he commonly calls it “her” and “my baby”

- Oliver is veeerrrry very patient which leads to Mike naturally losing alot of their bits that dont end and become about endurance. Mike has switchups between instant gratification and the ability to pursue one thing uninterrupted.

- Mike has poor circulation which is a shame since Oliver is very much not making body heat. They sleep with several blankets and sometimes a heating pad.

- Oliver is on friendly terms with Simon, who knows Oliver as “my basically-kid’s VERY polite and vast aligned boyfriend” and Oliver picks up some painting from him, much to Mike’s chagrin.

- Mikes favorite music genres are rock, house, and sappy songs. Oliver likes psychedelic, edm, and anything that sounds like a halloween song.

- Mike likes any competitive or open-world game and dislikes games that time cap you daily in progression or get too grind-y. Oliver likes all things horror (he can still spook easy) and dislikes games that have over complicated lore and bad lighting

- Mike got a place with a balcony for easy smoke access, which ends up also being where he leaves and comes back often. He only ever caught Oliver there a handful of times smoking, was scandalized to know Oliver had smoked when he was younger. Then realized his lungs don’t work anymore so free immunity. His Balcony was different in all the places he stayed. Sometimes a backyard. Sometimes a front yard. Often a car. Having someone else there was one of the large invisible steps into intimacy he’d have to wrestle with.

- Oliver is an avid spender of Fairchild money. He was incredibly reluctant to at first but eventually the silks and threadcounts got to him

I have this hc where Elias, too, is covered in eyes, but of course orange ones since that fits him better. I also hc that Elias/Jonah got a scar/mark from every death he inflicted on someone, more specifically with people of importance.

Example A: the gunshot scar on his waist from Gertrude's shot

Example B: two of the initial eyes on his body are either blind or crossed out, from removing original Elias' eyes.

And I have a personal hc that original Elias' did have top surgery so, stylized scars because they're pretty and we're allowed to do so

Will make this into a better digital version!!

headcanons that came to me in dreams (aka prophecies)

- jon sims has a scar on his lip from tripping and biting through his lip as a child. it’s faded with age, but if you look closely you’d be able to see it. he rubs his scar when he’s anxious.

- jon kicks in his sleep (terrible sleepover guest)

- the color blue reminds jon of martin and so he wears it all the time

- tim wears hearing aids and knows fluent BSL

- tim started the “there’s a giant crab underneath the institute” rumor

- michael had red cat-eye glasses but the distortion doesn’t have a need for them anymore

- gerry is wearing a hospital gown when he’s bound to the catalogue of the trapped dead

- elias hates all forms of music except for classical (occasionally he allows the beatles. he has an intense hatred for dolly parton. sacrilege... no one insults dolly)

- gertrude had a girlfriend (her name was billie)
