does anyone have any accessory or prop ideas for my Joel s11 cosplay? I'm finalizing my design rn and still wanna add a few more things :)

I'm currently planning a diamond spear, some keychains (to attach to the spear, it's gonna look sick :DDD), some pins to attach to the ribbon on the hat, (also open to pin design ideas), and also a bubble wand (whimsy purposes)

but yeah it would be cool to have some more stuff so if you have any ideas lmk :)

I got a pattern (on Etsy) for the vest!

I went to Comic Con yesterday!

It was my first time there and I cosplayed Moon Knight :D

I went with @autopilotangel (the very cool Mother Spore cosplay) and one of my other friends (the plague doctor)

Help me decide my next cosplay :3

COSPLAY OPTIONS: hc11 Joel Smallishbeans, Serial Designation N, Lucifer Morningstar, Gangle (TADC), Uzi Doorman

Poll is under cut along with the photos and a pros and cons list for each

please take the time to read the pros and cons of each (or at least skim it) before voting and try to take them into account when voting

it's okay to vote for the one you want to see if you believe it's one of the best options too! (ex. you think the N cosplay has the better pros and cons but you think Joel is a close second and you would rather see a Joel one (I'm sorry if that made no sense 😔))

yes, this is kinda in order of how much I wanna do these cosplays. kinda? maybe not

warning - long post

Before we start, some things to note:

My hair is brown/red rn (brown naturally)

I am willing to dye my hair but not white or anything too light

The two places I would wear these cosplays are Comic Con and school for Halloween

I wear glasses (they're pretty dark/bold, so pretty noticable)

I don't need them desperately (my eyesight a is decent without them), but for a con/school I would probably wear them unless they look really bad with the cosplay lol

Joel smallishbeans but his s11 skin (mcyt)

pros:

can thrift some of the cosplay

fun project (difficult tho)

the people that do recognize me will be very cool people

top hat and bow tie

can stare ominously at people

Auto (my sister) is thinking about going as Bdubs (shortgrass win)

everything is fine everything is normal

Can wear to school for Halloween (but probably won't participate in the costume contest cuz I ain't telling the entire school I'm a Minecraft YouTubers clown persona)

cons:

Not a very popular character

my comic con doesn't have mcyt meetups :(

LOTS of sewing

a lot of different fabrics (or buy special printed fabric) (expensive)

pretty hard to sew

I don't ont know if a bag would look good with the cosplay

Additional info:

for the stripe in my hair i'd either have to do a bleached stripe and put like hair chalk in it or smt or do like one of those hair clip extension things and also hair chalk it

Cool outfit

he wears a jacket (good for Halloween since I live in Canada and it's usually freezing at the end of October)

people will know who I am

I will gladly wear this one to school for Halloween

cons:

he wears a jacket (hot asf for the con)

wig? I don't rly know how and I'd wanna do an easier wig for my first one

to make it really good if have to buy those led glasses and those cost money and would also make my head hurt (but it would be fine without them so I don't have to)

wings? they don't have feathers so they wouldn't be easy

how tf do I make that tail without it flopping over and dragging on the ground (me at the con after it gets stepped on for the 87th time)

Lucifer (Hazbin Hotel)

pros:

not too complicated

minimal sewing

recognizable and popular with the new season

cool details and accessories

decently simple

cons:

I don't know if I'd wear that one to school (probably? idk)

his wings are complicated and I'd have to make normal wings instead (if I did wings)

how tf do I make the hat decorations 🥲

do I have to get a wig?? probably right?

bag would not look good with the cosplay

Gangle (The Amazing Digital Circus)

Added a photo of a typical gangle cosplay (found on Pinterest from pomni_official_), usually white and black with ribbons everywhere lol

pros:

recognizable cosplay

cute

barely any sewing

the only complicated part would be the ribbon

I could wear a bag with it and it wouldn't look weird

cons:

wig (buuuut it wouldn't be a bad wig to make...)

kinda boring

not my vibe? idk

I don't rly wanna wear the mask so if I made it I'd probably have to carry it

all my money spent on ribbons 💔

Uzi (also murder drones)

pros:

don't have to do a wig, I'm willing to dye my hair purple

she's cool

good for school

would be fun to paint the arms and legs

boots and leg warmers!!

very easy, I have most of the stuff already lol

could wear a bag with cosplay

cons:

outfit not as cool as n (it's a hoodie and a hat)

a lil boring

to make it really good if have to buy those led glasses and those cost money and would also make my head hurt (needed more for this cosplay)

not good for trick or treating if I go (ITS SO COLD)

okay so I kinda have a dilemma

for my Joel cosplay, I need the patterned fabrics for the pants and sleeves

the only fabrics with the patterns I need I found on spoonflower for very expensive dollars

and I found a couple Reddit posts with reviews for the website and one has decently good reviews but said it was expensive, and the other said the fabric wasn't the best quality (they print your designs on fabric, and they said it was fine for like bags and stuff but not as good for clothes)

I don't really mind if it's not amazing quality because it's a cosplay and not something I'll wear every day (honestly whatever as long as it's not stiff and it's decently flowy)

the main thing I'm concerned about is the flowyness and the cost (I also gotta buy fabric for the vest, and stuff for the accessories)

the two fabric choices I was thinking of was the satin ($22 USD... that's almost 30 CAD wtf) and the cotton lawn ($24 usd, a little over $33 CAD 😔)

so i'd want 1.5 yards of each fabric so $90-$100 (that's more than I thought, I thought the website was in CAD before I wrote this post wtf 🥲)

uh so if anyone has any advice/opinions on anything I'd like to hear them :) /nf
