TCOAAL AU: Mr. Graves

So, I decided to keep everything the same in this AU, except Mr. Graves has more character and is a blatant shit father to his kids.

Throughout the story, it becomes clear that Mr. Graves has no interest in his kids. However, he's deeply in love with Mrs. Graves, almost to the point that it is obsessive. He sweetly calls her his "devil."

Mr. Graves is a man who had grown up with little to no purpose in life, being extremely introverted and angry with the world. He found every single person and life form to be a waste of time and should be wasted. That was until he met Mrs. Graves and everything changed, somewhat. He only shows love and compassion for his wife, while showing discontent and annoyance with his kids.

In rare moments he will show patience for his kids, but it'll diminish quickly if they say the wrong thing that'll set him off to yell at them.

Mrs. Graves keeps Mr. Graves on a tight leash, but it's clearly consensual on his part and hers.

I think it's safe to say everyone and their mama know Andrew isn't a good person, but didn't nemlei implied Andrew was more redeemable than Ashley?? (In the Q&A) Idk but make him a rapist would take that from him, a lot of fandoms tend to tolerate characters like dazai osamu or jinx as long as they don't rape someone?? just asking

i read through the q&a again and couldn’t find anything saying that or alluding to it so i don’t think so, no.

i think the beginning of the game pushes that andrew is more redeemable and renee extending an olive branch part but those are just consequences of an unreliable narrator and renee’s upside down view of her children.

but i don’t think we really need for there to be anything said in front of our faces for us to know andrew would not go through with that because basic reading skills and character comprehension will bring you to that conclusion itself. also understanding how the game tackles the events of abuse between the siblings, it would not be an optional interaction.

Hey tell us about rose and roman. what are they like?

Starting with Roman, he's the quiet and observant one for the most part. He's tender and warm with Rose, always making sure she's safe as well as comfortable. Roman has maybe half of his soul coated in tar, but that's only because what the Cult of the Lord Unknown has done to him. I can talk more about that in a different post though, it's a long story.

Rose is @theandrewgraves 's OC, so they're better to ask but I can tell you what she's like with Roman! She's pure good, not a single speck of tar in her soul. She's the older one, with a 4 and a half year age gap, always kind and sweet to her brother.

The two protect each other with everything they have, and while they're not abusive to each other, they *are* codependent as all hell. They are always touching, whether its holding hands, touching knees while sitting, or walking arm in arm together.

This was a generalization, but feel free to ask for specifics!!
