Something about the bastardization of the story time and time again proves that nobody in power really cares about the people who would resonate with King’s Carrie White. A girl so ugly and repulsive she’s been removed from her own story. The societal need for women and girls to be constantly perceived as attractive is what fuels a fair amount of her torment in the book, but that person isn’t even allowed to exist on the screen. the more i talk to extended family the more i learn that it was EXTREMELY obvious to all the adults around me as a child that something had gone horribly wrong and i needed professional help, but i guess there's some sort of prime directive thing where you can suggest to the kid's parents that the kid might need help but you can never ever ever let on to the kid that you can tell something is wrong. you just have to hold on to that until the kid becomes an adult who's able to say "so i think i experienced a lot of trauma when i was very little" and then you can say "yes, i know. i didn't know what happened but it was completely unmissable that something had." okay. thank you. that's very validating. but why did you leave me to suffer and keep feeling like there was no other explanation than that i was broken and going insane. would it really have been so bad to sit me down and go "i see you. i can't help much, but i can tell something happened and you're in a lot of pain. you deserve help and support. you're not going insane." or something. i don't know. my internal experience was mostly that i had suddenly become a bad child who couldn't seem to get anything right and was always being yelled at. maybe it would have helped if someone had said something.

My older sister's health has declined drastically since the last week of December 2024, which is why I decided to take over this account as per her request. The entirety of her right arm was not only swollen, but blood kept seeping out of her knuckles, her palm, and her elbow. Protruding tumors/swelling have reached both of her breasts, too, and are affecting her shoulder/shoulder blades and even her spine, and now her neck. Fun fact for anyone who does this, being a misogynistic man isn't funny just because you're trans or you think the idea of treating trans women like women is inherently funny, how funny do you think she finds your "ironic" misogyny when you punch down on the women that don't have cis privilege over you
also no one says it but the punchline of "trans inclusive misogyny" is almost always the implicit assumption that transfeminine people do not actually experience misogyny in our day-to-day life. thats why its considered humorous and acceptable to do, rather than just being. misogyny against women.
Remember this every time someone says "I don't like TMA/TME" or insinuates that trans women discussing how we're affected by misogyny within the queer community is "infighting" or "discourse." Their argument isn't that they think there is a better framework or that we're actively harming men through bioessentialist hate or whatever the lastest framing they've come around to is, it's that they think they have the right to speak over and down to women because deep down they think trans women aren't actually women in an actual sense, only in a rhetorical one for PR's sake. They think we're narrarively women, not that we experience life as women.

As in yes, it's transmisogynistic, but to make it even more gross, they're probably also specifically doing it because they saw your post about pausing submissions. you know it's always been a fear of mine that someone would copy tvp and change up the wording to create a male version and frame it as an equal counterpart, subtracting from the purpose of tvp which is to center transfem survivors... but never in my worst nightmares did I imagine they would make their project specifically about abuse from transfems and nobody else. fucking horrific
