It’s one of 7 “sustainable” covers (slides) of @vogueitalia January 2020 issue, where all featured stories are drawn not photographed. Because... !!!photography is not sustainable. What?) I understand to choose the best fashion illustrators or artists to make something exceptional. A statement book, where fashion, lifestyle, culture and art, life - all come together, complete and define each other, like best of such issues in Vogue’s history. But to post editor’s letter with explanation of sustainability reasons and listed expenses on production of September issue with original photographs. As for artists choice... with all my respect... @milomanara_official (love his erotical comics, but... please, it’s so boring when it’s fashion), @VBuntitled (first slide says all), @Cas_Amandaa @Cas_Namoda (cool, but art), @delphinedesane (good), @yoshitaka_amano (anime), @Paolo.Ventura (his own works are way better), @David_Salle (I’m not an art critic to get the idea). “The challenge was to prove it is possible to show clothes without photographing them..” What a discovery! It’s possible to show clothes without photographing them!))) but the other hilarious discovery is that final results are so far from “showing clothes”. It’s imitation of photo stories or some objects of contemporary art. As for sustainability, let’s be honest - the massive impact of glossy media publishing is printing, deliverly to subscribers and distributors, utilization of unsold and sold copies. I don’t mention paper production itself, energy production and usage on all stages, including web content and social media consumption. So why not to put charity sticker instead of superficial talking about sustainability? And just leave an accounting details for publishers? Saved on production sums (? How much?)))) will go on restoration of Fondazione Querini Stampalia in Venice.
