INTERSTELLAR (2014) dir. Christopher Nolan
Petition to make the men of Interstellar as pathetic as possible
I had a dream the other night that I made a tumblr post about how Tom is an unsung hero in Interstellar, and you know what, I’ll make that dream come true because Tom is an unsung hero in Interstellar. Because if he hadn’t been so dedicated to preserving the farmhouse, keeping everything in Murph’s room exactly the same, then Murph wouldn’t have found the watch that Cooper was using to send her the Morse code message to figure out the gravity equation. And he didn’t touch any of the books in her “haunted” bookshelf or anything. He preserved the farmhouse so well that Cooper could use the bedroom to communicate with Murph, since he’s the one responsible for the gravity distortions. If Tom hadn’t tried to his best to keep his promise to Cooper and look after the farm, then Murph might not have been able to save the world. Yes, he was stuck in his ways, and yes, he was too stubborn to leave even after the air quality decreased so much that it caused his family to get sick and he lost his first son. But Tom kept his promise, and he did his part to save the world. And yet the poor guy doesn’t even get remembered smh
