I just don't think we're made for the "everything is disposable" lifestyle. There is so much stuff that already exists. There is so much satisfaction in using something up and diy. There is so much stress in owning so much you can't even breath in your own space AND YET you still experience the feeling of not having enough. Addiction. and most of us have experienced this at some point.
me when i REALLY need to work on that fic but OMG people cosplaying on pinterest they're so cool and wait why am i sad for no reason OMG STOP SCROLLING TUMBLR i don't have inspo for the fic anyway, i haven't in a week or more and it sucks, my gf is not answering me on discord (i hope she's sleeping and not programming for the whole night she needs the sleep), i just remembered that bsd chapter 129 exists, i should make something artistic but what hmm idk nevermind, let's listen to music NOOO LET'S CONTINUE WATCHING JOJO'S BIZARRE ADVENTURE but uhhhhh should i really don't i wanna act dramatic and weird and strange to myself while listening to music NO I NEED TO WRITE !!! but i'm not inspired and i already tried... yk what let's continue watching jjba for now... pff... idk...
Too much stuff
In case you doubt that we Americans are being buried in the things we own, notice the storage units popping up almost as fast as dollar stores.
Our clutter is so copious that our basements and attics can’t handle it; our junk won’t fit into our three-car garages, our garden sheds, our pole barns … We have to rent off-site containers just to hold possessions we rarely - or never - use.
A not-so-fun fact: the garages at 70 percent of American households cannot accommodate cars because their filled with things other than cars.
A storage unit generally costs between $50 and $250 per month, depending on the size, location, security level, etc. The national average cost for a medium size unit is around $120 per month.
