hey guys. today is favorite house character day. and. uhm. yeah idk if you knew this but my favorite characters wilson? yeah. this isn’t a very well known fact. that he’s my favorite. uhm. like you’d really never guess that he’s my favorite character nothing would ever give you that impression.

but uhm yeah i know he’s the favorite of a lot of people so me being like yeah… heh. i loooveee wilson! isn’t very special or unique or anything. but my favorite actually used to be chase which is kinda funny… then s2 started and Everything Changed.

#The amount of times I read something in a history and go “How do you know this?” or “You can't possibly know this.”#You need a bit of flair and passion to convey things to a reader #but holy hell so many are less of a reporter and more of a reeanctor who forgot to leave their impression at the office door #And this is something I feel so many people who have NOT written fear doing that they do not write #and it's frustrating when some that do write and publish don't even consider #I used to think 'it's just one book I don't like' and keep reading because reading teaches you what you don't like #but seeing so much bullshit passed as fact because of some dipshit's sloppy work or bias #makes me think more about this #which is why I'm loving the primary sources. Because it is skewed enough from the source but FUN as hell #which is also why looking at the book that sent me to the primary source and what I'm actually reading has ruined me a little #NOT saying that research and historians and all that are doing it on purpose because bias is human #but the search for research to back up your theory vs the research allowing your theory to develop is evident in a lot #Do you know how many times the answer is “we ran out of gas.” in WW2 tactics? A LOT #yet everyone is blasting someone over something personal and tbh you just can't make the Army go without the Go Juice #Also you guys use so much ammo and it takes a fucking long time to resupply. Tell me you never worked retail. JFC #But things get skewed a lot and more modern books do it so much.#Like writing books using only your collection of shit to establish it as THE reference for everything when its just to overvalue your stuff #TOO much.#You're telling me you own everything of importance to this subject and are THE expert? PLEASE.#Now you've fucked it all by putting out a reference nobody looks beyond #which is what your point was #which is not about history and not about the greatest generation but about your COLLECTION #Anyhow #I implore you to read the primary sources because these guys are funny and relatable and biased and haters #and just normal people who are very easy to read and they write in the moment #or are so obviously biased its funny #there are wonderful writers out there who did great jobs and I more than a few out here that would do GREAT work #Just some that...should be viewed more critically #anyhow thanks for coming to my Sunday Tumblr Side Chat
