today a grown man touched my tits and said yeehaw. i have to say that's a first
I'm so fuckin' tired lol
Hey friends!
Less than a week ago, I set the date for surgery and have already gotten so many things prepared for it.
There are a lot of different expenses involved once you start breaking it all down to surgery, travel, food, and housing.
It’s going to take a toll on my bank account, that’s for sure. However, I’m hoping to pick up a second job soon and keep selling artwork.
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in buying a T-shirt that I design (and probably hand print) to help raise funds for my venture.
Personally, this suits my style more than a gofundme. I’d prefer to work to raise the money instead of relying on donations.
Not set on the idea yet, since it might not be worth it if there’s not much response.
If any of y’all would be into a cute lil shirt, leave a comment with your favorite emoji (mine is ™️).
10 Things you might not think to do before Top Surgery
There are about a million “preparing for top surgery” posts out there - so this isn’t one of those! This is a list of the stuff not usually on those lists - its not key (hence why it’s not on the lists) but I think a lot of it is helpful!
Wash your bedding - Because it’s nice to have fresh bedsheets when you feel anything but fresh, but also for hygiene reasons!
In fact - wash everything. Clothes, towels, blankets. You don’t want to risk getting ill - and it’s this stuff that bugs tend to stay growing on!
In a similar vein - clean your room. Not tidy - clean. I’ve got some disinfectant wipes I’ll be using for my room and bathroom. It’s nice to have a tidy room - and essential to not get ill!
Get “thank you” presents ready for the people who will be looking after you. You’re gonna smell and be grouchy and not that fun to be around. Don’t lie to yourself - you will. I’ve got some chocolates for my house mates, cupcakes for a friend, fudge for the friend that's driving me home, and so SO much stuff for my girlfriend. They’ll appreciate it.
Take vitamins! 1000mg of vitamin C (way above the normal necessary amount) has been found to help wound healing
Move stuff around - I’ve asked a house mate if I can use his fridge shelf because it’s easier to reach than mine
Get snacks and food for when you can’t cook
ASK YOUR SURGEON FIRST - if they say its ok, shave the bits that are gonna be having tape put on them.
Stop taking ibuprofen or aspirin
Get in food for the meal you’re having the night before surgery - and make it substantial because you’ll probably be fasting for a while the next day!
Top Surgery Prep
So it looks like lots of different people do lots of different things to prepare for surgery. Based upon my research, my personal feelings, and the surgeon’s and anesthesiologist’s recommendations, here’s what I did to prep:
- I avoided alcohol for 2 weeks pre-surgery and will be avoiding it for 2 weeks following surgery. This is supposed to boost my immune system and reduce bruising.
- I tried my best to avoid sodium for the week before and will be trying to avoid it for a week after. This is supposed to reduce swelling. (I really only manage to keep it to about 50% of the recommended daily intake. Salt is hard for me to avoid!)
- I took Bromelaine and Arnica supplements for a week before and will take them for at least a week after surgery, probably longer. They are both supposed to reduce inflammation and bruising.
- I did my best to stay VERY hydrated pre-surgery and will do the same after.
- I upped my daily push-ups I increase every 10 days, I’m currently doing 34 per day. This is supposed to help shape my pecs and give the surgeon a good idea of where my muscle falls/the contours of my chest.
- I tried to greatly increase my intake of fiber and fruit for the week before surgery and will continue this after. The pain killers/antibiotics(?) are constipating (I’ve heard) so just trying to address that as much before hand. I considered starting stool softeners 2 days before the surgery, but decided just to start taking them as soon as I am able to after the surgery.
2 days until top surgery!
today i’m continuing with lots of prep.. yesterday i cleaned the bathroom, kitchen, vacuumed almost every room and the staircase, cleaned out my car, and prepped some meals.
today i’m making lists of shows/movies to watch n things to do, making lists of last minute questions to ask my surgeon, doing laundry, and organizing some of my materials for after surgery..
if anyone has any last minute advice or anything, i would greatly appreciate!
i’m getting DI no nips :3
Just got this shirt today for top surgery recovery. I really like it, haha. It's super soft and comfortable :) and it's got super cool cats on it
