Day 4 of cutting back on Topamax... Hello hunger my old friend
guys. have you ever tried writing anything on topirimate? cause istg my brain is empty and my fingers are made of cinder blocks (it just took me 30 seconds to think of the word cinder blocks. it took me two full minutes to remember the word still a minute ago)
ooomg my meds make it so easy to get drunk wtf
The only thing that reminds me to take my medication is getting pins and needles in my feet :(
Another silly little update
My medication for my IIH makes me have hyper realistic and crazy dreams every single night. Last night's dream, my mum and dad had split up, I was living with my dad and the Duggars came to stay... Then my music teacher from high school came round and said some rather questionable things to me which my high school friend said I should go along with because she enjoyed it when he propositioned her! WTF brain?! Seriously?!
I recently upped my topamax to 75mgs and my breathing feels really shallow. Had anyone else had this problem when they upped their meds? In 8 days I need to go to 100mgs.
Harmadig Triptaline...no, TOPIRIMATE
Remembered the word!
I took them in my early 20s and they were working eh. The side effects were the big thing. I don't remember having mild side-effects or anything else besides dramatic weight loss and I stopped being able to sweat. My doctor looked at me like I was insane and told me to drink more water, which I did, but didn't help because my body wasn't able to naturally cool itself down. In doctor-speak it's called oligohidrosis and it wasn't something I just made up. (Don't worry about it, it's rare; just be wary.)
Then I was off it and took some stupid medicine that hasn't worked.
I'm back on it again, at 26, and have been for a while, and am at 75mg. Any more than that I sleep more and when I'm awake I have absolutely no energy at all. I also have to watch my weight since I'm very slender, don't eat much to begin with, and have had/have (?) anorexia. My dosage has fluctuated quite a bit this year, but at 75 along with watching my triggers, things are going okay, at least in the past two weeks.
Basically: just be wary and monitor yourself very closely. The sleeping and weight loss are the more common side effects; the olighdienfef didn't happen until I had been on it for about 3 years.
Just known that it has some weird side effects and watch out for them, but I'd advise against looking through them all. I know when I do I get anxious and expect things to happen when usually nothing even does.
Good luck!
