I was really panicking because I had no idea what my first A Torch Against the Night photo would be. I was like "it HAS to be PERFECT. THEY DONT CALL ME THE EMBERLING QUEEN FOR NOTHING". And then I got this beautiful book today, and all of my thoughts and ideas went out the window. I'm so calm right now. I haven't started reading yet, tbh I think I'm in shock. I've waited over a year for this book and I'm so nervous. I mostly nervous I'm not going to like it. An Ember in the Ashes means so much to me you guys. Aside from my love for Elias and my jokes it's means a lot. There's hope in this book and I think we all could use a little bit of that. To hold on to something and just keep wishing and fighting for the best. Everything's not going to always be so bad and as long as you fight for what you want, you'll always prevail. Of course I have a feeling Sabaa is REALLY gonna make Elias, Laia and Helene fight for what they want and believe in and I know people will die and get hurt. I'm just so nervous because I love this series SO MUCH it means SO MUCH TO ME and I don't want to lose that. I don't think I will. I'm just worried because I was pretty obsessed with ACOTAR and look at how much I hate that series now lol. To be so passionate about something and then just lose it. 😨😨 Anyway, I'm going to enjoy this book. I know I will. I really, really hope you all do too! When you finish it let me know what you think about it! Thank you everyone for your kind comments about my previous #anembertorchchallenge post! I really enjoyed putting together these shots and it’s really nice to hear you guys are enjoying them! . This is for the prompts Trial 3: Weapon of Choice and Trial 4: Memorable Sacrifice. My weapon of choice would be either batons or a sword or one baton in one hand and a sword in the other. They’re actually the weapons of my main character in my novel. 😁 For memorable sacrifice, I don’t want to say too much because of spoilers, but I’m going to say there was a moment in Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor that had a memorable sacrifice. I read it back in May and I’m still hurt about it. Not too badly because Laini Taylor made up for it in Dreams of Gods and Monsters, but I was really traumatized when it happened. . For #livelaughbooksaugust, Anticipated releases, A Torch in the Night (obviously), Crooked Kingdom, Sacrifice, Tales of the Peculiar, Bright Smoke, Cold Fire, A Midnight Star, Heartless, and The Sun Also a Star. I’m also excited for Strange the Dreamer, but it got moved back to March 2017. 😢 (I haven’t read TOG, so I can’t say Empire of Storms. 😅) . What’s your weapon of choice? Books and stationery is the prompt for #augustofpages and you all know, I had to do this one! I had so many ideas, but then my sister shared with me some stationery that she received from a friend’s growing business. The bookmark, traveler’s notebook, tree of life card, and eye glass pouch (I’m thinking it can be used for pens too!) are from @inkindia. Isn’t it all gorgeous? Nandini’s small business is based in Brooklyn and she will soon be launching her online store. All her stationery products are from India and are handmade. Thank you to everyone who shared and commented on my giveaway post for a signed copy of An Ember in the Ashes. I’ll have the winner posted by Saturday! . Here begins my heartfelt attempt at An Ember in the Ashes themed book photos. If you saw my Story over the weekend, I had previews of some of the shots and props I used. I’ll be posting my final shots during the week for Sabaa Tahir’s @sabaatahir #torchstagram and Andi’s @_halfbl00dprincess and Neo’s @_bookishneo_ A Torch in the Night contests. And because I LOVE this book and the author. 😁 . Catching up with #anembertorchchallenge, School/Military Setting and Rules with an iron fist. I love stories set in schools, but I haven’t read very many in a military school setting. I think this is why AEITA interested me so much—it was different than other stories that I’ve read. What are some stories set in a military school that you’ve read? . For Rules with an Iron fist, the Commandant definitely fits this description. She’s so twisted and terrifying! I don’t want to say why because spoilers, but trust me when I say, the Commandant is someone you do not want to cross! Other characters who remind me of the Commandant, Dolores Umbridge and Queen Levana! If you loved to hate them, you’ll feel the same way for the Commandant. . Special thanks to my sister-in-law who helped put on this henna Ember themed tattoo. Izzat is a word that means freedom and one that rebels in Ember have as part of their own tattoo.
