There are no happy farms where the animals are given treats and cuddled each day, and even if there were, they all end up on these trucks where their suffering is completely irrelevant so long as they arrive at the slaughterhouse, even if they have to be dragged inside it with chains. Veterinarians, even those working in the farm industry, have said that transportation is by far one of the most physically and mentally stressful parts of their short lives (obviously besides the time spent inside hell/the killing facility) and as previously stated, this is something all farmed animals, no matter where they grew up, are forced to experience. Seeing this in persyn is so beyond horrific and tragic that it is indescribable. To have the beautiful cow so gently kiss my hand, despite the awful life she's lived, only to see her head, and her blood, fall out of that bin 10-15 minutes later is so upsetting and so heartshattering that it makes me sick to my stomach, not due to disgust, but as a result of such an intense level of sadness that it infects every cell in my body. I beg, BEG you to please help end this hell we humyns have created by going vegan. I spent my day at the Toronto Save monthly All-Day Vigil where we activists bear witness from 7-am-12am outside of four different slaughterhouses, which collectively kill tens of thousands of animals each day including, pigs, cows, sheep, and chickens, all after hellish lives on factory farms and at a fraction of their natural lifespans. Despite the scorching heat, the trucks rolled in as usual, resulting in the animals (especially the pigs who have a very hard time regulating their temperature), with no access to water or rest despite the metal slaughtertrucks collecting heat like ovens, suffering even more than usual. These cows were moments away from violent deaths when this video was taken. In the few minutes I had with them, I bonded with two lovely, gentle cows, both of whom softly kissed my hand. It is incredible and utterly heartbreaking that the majority of these sweet animals want to interact with us as soon as they are treated with an ounce of kindness. If we were half as loving as these animals, our world would be full of peace. Us Toronto Cow Save activists bore witness to these beautiful babies, as well as their mums (who were in the backend of the truck) arrive at "Ryding Regency Meatpackers". After the mothers suffered immensely both physically and emotionally for about four years (cows naturally live to be 20), at the hands of the dairy industry, by living in filthy, concrete sheds, with painful, untreated diseases/injuries, and most torturous of all, having their infants ripped away from them moments after their birth, and after their children experienced cruelty such as being chained in crates so small they couldn't turn around, and being isolated while at their most vulnerable, for mere weeks, or even days, they were both brought to the slaughterhell to be violently killed. The babies were crying for their mums, as they desperately screamed back, and trust me when I say no sound could ever come close to being as brutally heart-piercing as these ones I heard. Most horrific of all though, was that the mothers would have had to watch their children be forced into a place smelling of blood and death, knowing that they were in danger, yet being unable to save them from their brutal fate, even while they listened to their frantic cries of pain and dying screams. It is even quite possible that the mums had to watch their immensely adored infants bleed out after having their throats sawed open while conscious, before they met the same fate. I'm so very grateful to every single person who opens their eyes, their ears, their minds, and their hearts long enough to hear the message.
