I train at many gyms around the country and one of the most exercises that i see performed incorrectly is the #HangingLegRaise. I'd like to take a moment to address this movement & help you train at a higher level!! The main areas of the abs are the rectus abdominis, transverse abdominis and the internal/external obliques. In order to target those difficult #LowerAbs you must active the transverse abdominis. This involves contraction of the abs (suck in), spinal flexion as well as torso rotation. 1⃣ Video clip 1 shows basic HIP flexion. This movement is what I see most people performing at the gym. This will fatigue your hip flexors but will not do much to activate your lower abs because there is limited to no spinal flexion. I'm not going to say its "Wrong" but its not going to help your abs.. 🚫AVOID THIS MOVE!!🚫 2⃣ The middle video clip is a beginner-intermediate movement which shows activation of the #TransverseAbdominis as well as spinal flexion. 👍👍PRACTICE THIS MOVE👌👌 3⃣ The video on the far right is an advanced movement which combines #SpinalFlexion, #TorsoRotation & #TimeUnderTension to form a complete #LowerAb Sculpting exercise!! 💥🔥 TRY THIS MOVE 🔥💥"
