I, 28F and my boyfriend/father of my children, 27M are on the verge of splitting up after 10 years and 2 kids together
I feel like this is a typical break up post. My boyfriend continues to put me down. Tell me I’m not the one for him. He doesn’t feel it for me. I’m so tired of pouring my heart out to try to get him to understand my feelings. Some people want gifts or fancy dates, but all I’ve ever wanted was to feel enough. I just want to feel appreciated for what I contribute to our household. Why can’t he just be someone who listens to my concerns or hears me out when I just want to vent?.. it’s like I’m always talking to myself. I don’t want to have to change everything about me for him to feel this way but I don’t want to find anyone else in order to get what I’m asking for.. just someone to hear me. We argued in the car today and I may of taken it a little too far by calling him names because he has a way of just making my blood boil when I just want him to hear my words. My daughter, 7F, cried when we were arguing and I felt really bad. But I also don’t want her to be subject to meeting someone to puts her down like he does me, ever. Can we come back from this?… I don’t know how to fix it. I wish he had any sort of emotional capabilities to help fix it but he doesn’t want to. He wants to leave. I don’t want to break up our family. I do everything I can to hold us together, to hold myself together. But he is so impossible to be happy with. I don’t want to move on. 😭 Anyways.. writing this because I really have no friends to talk to about my situation. Just looking for some uplifting words of encouragement or advice.
What you have now is a broken home. Your home would be happier and healthier if you could accept he doesn't want to be with you and let him go. This is miserable. Your child is suffering. You are all suffering. The way out is through acceptance. No, you cannot bully someone into staying with you and have that turn healthy. I'm sorry, but it's been over for a long, long time. He has heard what you have to say. He doesn't want to be with you. Listening to you doesn't mean agreeing with you. Let him go.
