"all you had to do was stay doesnt deserve track five spot" well obviously you never spent months obsessing over two non-canon-but-only-because-the-writers-were-to-scared fictional men who went through a tumultuous journey spanning over multiple decades only to finally have some sort of makeshift happy ending somewhere in the 90s, one beach divorce, time travel heist and several murders later while simultaneously being the living embodiment of this song and it shows
Taylor Swift didn’t write “I made you my temple, my mural, my sky / And now I’m begging for footnotes in the story of your life” for you to say tolerate it is her weakest track 5.
