I think that a lot of women on this "tradwife" tag on this site fundamentally misunderstand WHY people say tradwife/tradcon is inherently problematic.

I see a lot of them saying like "being a tradcon doesnt mean you're racist/sexist/homophobic!" And "I'm a tradwife and I'm pro-choice and support women who choose to work" and the bewildering "I'm a lesbian tradwife, actually."

Tradwife is not synonymous with housewife. If you want to be a stay at home mom to a working husband, raising kids, cool, /I wish I could do that as well/. But the Traditionally Conservative community is built on, shocker, traditionally conservative values. Often christian values. Values from the time of "tradition", somewhere around 50-80 years ago, when women, queer people, and people of color had much fewer rights and were discriminated against much more than today. Traditionally conservative values of the home wife era often were built on the ideas that women were the incapable, inferior sex and only exist to fuck and birth sons. You cannot be pro choice/lgbt/equality if you are a tradcon because those are the fundamental opposite of traditional conservative values.

You're not a tradcon, you're just a housewife.

The tradfem community shouldn't be a place for negativity or disrespect. As neither one of those things are ladylike. Every woman or man should be allowed to feel what they want to feel. If some women are like me and want to be traditional that's okay and if some don't want to be traditional that's okay too. The trad community is not for converting people it's not a religion it's just a lifestyle. We are not vegans we don't go around telling everyone that we're trad. Our community as small as is and we should be more focused on promoting traditionalism within our own communities not trying to disrespect women who choose not to be in it. My content is for women who are already traditional and if someone who isn't traditional sees it and wants to be in it then that's cool too.

If anyone wants to keep belittling women for having a job then I hope you get sick with a terrible illness and every nurse refuses to help you. I hope you have children and no daycare accepts them and no babysitter will come watch them. I hope stores refuse to sell you clothes. I hope that youre willing to forget every lesson you were taught from kindergarten to highschool. When youre elderly, I hope youre content with never having a single care aid of LPN come help you. I hope you are willing to live without every female dominated industry if you think so little of the women who work tirelessly to keep them running.

Of course, it would be nice if people just stopped taking women for granted. It would be super awesome if we could be seen as complex, multi-talented human beings. Wouldnt it be nice if people didnt place us in a box and expect us to spend our 80+ year lifespan doing only what they consider to be appropriate "womens work".

I feel bad that I'm not in this video. Not all Tradfems are christian or even white. The comments try to conflate being a tradwife to ddlg or other fetishes. Well I hope she knows that we are here to stay and that no we are not a fetish. Ladies don't let this get you down if you want to stay home and take care of your children that is fine and if you believe in christian roles that's fine too.
