This article is based on the Trader Joe’s Teriyaki Chicken (frozen bag) and how to prepare it with variety. If you don’t have it or don’t have chicken on hand, you could substitute with another meat (steak, turkey, sausage).
Chicken torta topped with Ghost Pepper chips
1 cup of chicken, cooked according to package
3/4 cup of broccoli, cooked (can substitute with other veg)
Put the ingredients together in a bowl with the rice on the bottom, followed by chicken and broccoli.
Drizzle the bowl with teriyaki sauce (or oyster sauce or soy sauce).
3/4 cup of shredded green cabbage (can substitute lettuce, spinach, or other soft greens)
flatbread (can substitute with pita or sandwich bread)
Toss the chicken, cabbage, mayonnaise, and Sriracha in a mixing bowl.
1/3 cup of refried beans, heated until soft in microwave
sliced pepper jack cheese (optional or can substitute another melty cheese)
1 large bread roll, toasted (bolillos work well but toasted sandwich bread can be used)
spicy potato chips (optional)
Spread a layer of bean on one side of the bread. Add a layer of chicken on top.
Place a layer of cheese on the other side of the bread (optionally broil the cheese to melt it.
Top the chicken with salsa. Top the salsa with potato chips.
