i read a fic a while back where university-era Starscream was running low on energon midflight while out somewhere with Skyfire and Skyfire had an auxiliary fuel tank and they did that midair refueling thing that jets sometimes do irl and Starscream overloaded so hard he nearly crashed out of the sky and i cant stop thinking about it. midair refueling feedism... please god we need more altmode fucking where they do weird things that those alts really do.!!!!!

EAST CHINA SEA (September 18, 2019) -- Sailors aboard United States Navy guided-missile cruiser USS Antietam (CG 54) prepare to receive a fuel line during a replenishment-at-sea (UNREP) with the Military Sealift Command dry cargo ship USNS Carl Brashear (T-AKE 7).

The oiler will deliver tens of thousands of gallons/liters of fuel through that line over the next couple of hours....

....many thousands of miles from home.
