Dorcas as a transwoman, who was the most fashionable person in Hogwarts. Who helped Regulus design a binder when he first came out. Who cut Marlene's hair in the bathroom, so that they could finally see themselves when they looked in the mirror and not the perfect girl their family wanted them to be. Dorcas who fought in a war, who lost her partner, who avenged them and came the closest to killing the Dark Lord than anyone else.

Parents were often well-intentioned. But, on this occasion, Marlene wanted to thwack them round the backs of their heads.

They were well-intentioned, except their intention was that Marlene experience the teenage life and get herself a boyfriend. Some girls might be extremely pleased with this ideology. Marlene was not.

A boyfriend was the last thing she wanted. Except now her parents were insisting she bring her lovely boyfriend (she’d pretended to have one to get them off her back about it) to their summer party. There was only one thing left to do.

Dorcas stared at Marlene. “You want me to be your fake boyfriend?”

“Well, yeah,” Marlene shrugged casually. “You’re a boy and you’re my friend.”

That was the thing. Dorcas may display as a boy, but she wasn’t actually. She was… in the wrong body. She was a girl. She was and she was and she was.

But this was fake. She was going to be a fake boyfriend. In two ways, actually. Not only were they fake dating. She was faking being a boy.

Marlene’s parents squealed.

“This is your boyfriend?” Her mother nodded approvingly.

“He’s so lovely,” her father clapped her friend’s shoulder.

Even her grandparents loved her fake boyfriend.

“What a charming lad,” her grandfather smiled. “Reminds me of myself.”

“Oh, shut up,” her grandmother swatted his chest playfully. “This man is far more handsome than you could’ve ever been,” she winked.

Dorcas leaned against the bathroom door. She’d gone inside for a break from being a boy, except now she might be extending her break a little longer than usual.

She couldn’t understand it. She did have the body of a boy. Her body had been this way from birth. Except it wasn’t hers. It was just… where she existed. She could exist anywhere and still be a girl. A girl’s body, a boy’s body, a human body. An animal body. She would still be a girl.

It wasn’t based on the way she acted. She could play rugby and crop her hair to her skull and be a girl. She did, actually. She played rugby, her afro was short. It was convenient that way. Any hair suited any gender and her hair suited her gender.

She could wear long flowery dresses in the sun and be a girl. She did, actually. Sometimes she danced in her mother’s vintage gowns as she imagined her life was a fifties’ musical. Imagination was fun that way. Any, every human could imagine. They should imagine. Imagination was for everyone, including Dorcas, who was a girl.

So, yes, Dorcas was taking her break, because on the other side of the door, people were calling her a boy, and gender didn’t matter, except it did when you got it wrong. It stung.

She would rather be an ugly girl than a handsome boy. Adjectives didn’t matter, but her gender did.

Marlene gently knocked on the bathroom door, “Hey? Are you in there?”

The door unlocked reluctantly, but Marlene’s smile was spontaneous when she caught the eyes of her friend.

“Hey,” she repeated, slinking into the bathroom. “Are you okay?”

Dorcas sighed. “I don’t think I can do it.”

Marlene nodded reassuringly. “Okay. That’s okay. You don’t have to.”

“No, I… I’m fine with fake dating. I just can’t…”

“With me?” Marlene frowned, brows furrowing.

“No, you’re perfect, I’m just… I can’t fake being a boyfriend.”

“You said you were fine with fake dating?” Marlene’s voice lilted upward. Soft, high. Dorcas wished her voice would do that.

“I can’t fake being a boy,” Dorcas rushed out in one breath. “I’m a girl.”

“Oh,” Marlene exhaled. “Okay,” she uttered slowly, thinking carefully over every syllable. Then suddenly, she stopped thinking and burst out, “Well, whaddya wanna do, girlfriend?” She punched Dorcas’s shoulder playfully.

Dorcas’s shock unfolded into laughter.

I think that mary came to Hogwarts still identifying as a male, and at the start of the second year, she came out, so they transported her to the female dorm.

Idk (&idc) if it's anyone's favourite, but I think Peter is a demi romantic+ demi sexual and he is attracted to girls only.

Sirius black is the most gender fluid person on earth. idk what is going through some of ya'lls minds (probably common sense, I usually don't have one). Okay? He is actually extremely non binary androgynous male sluty pup and I'm happy that he's having fun.

If we're taking a stroll through the animals Isle, let's talk about the handsomest of them all - Mr remus lupin. THE MAN IS BISEXUAL. and he's a playeahhhhh. I'm not sexualizing him. I'm just talking reality. He is a traumatised little sluty cassanova that does not believe in relationships since everybody left him (Orphanage-his-father-killed-himself-his mother-hates-him-headcanon) and he dates (wink wink) everything he can at the same time. I'm not saying he's a sex addict but he is.

Regulus and James - yes. Regulus and barty- no ew, it's like sleeping with your brother. Regulus and remus- remus was Regulus's first. This was not weird it's like when best friends are kissing in order to be better at making out.

Marlene - very much a lesbian, very much does not have a crush on Mary. She is her sister. Literally. Mary's parents adopted Marlene after she was kicked out for being a lesbian witch.

Lily-mary-pandora love triangle. I love it. I don't know enough about it. Tell me more.

Last but not least- barty and even. Even is in love with barty. Barty is playing with him. Same ol' story.
