Insinuating that trans men (and/or transmascs who aren't men) transition to gain male privilege is transphobia

Sometimes (even as a trans man), I'm like fine you believe all trans men are evil and all gain all the male privileges in the world, but why the fuck would you say that about all transmasculine people?

Not that it's right when one says it about trans men, but at least I can *see* how one got to that conclusion. But then one ropes all transmascs in as men and thinks they are the ultimate trans ally or whatever.

Transmasc doesn't mean man; men can be a part of transmasculinity, but it is not the whole of it, and I do not know how one can be so confident in their antitransmasc stance while pretending to know anything about people who are transmasc, transfemme, transneutral, nonbinary, etc.

Do you not hear yourself saying that you do not understand a pretty large (ime - nonbinary people are a lot of us; idk if statistically that's right though) amount of trans people? Do you not understand that you are either misgendering or degendering a massive amount of transmascs when you say that? There are transmascs who are multiple genders, including or excluding men, and pegging them as just ONE gender that may or may not be a part of their genders - and deciding the experiences and privileges of the cisgender counterpart of that gender is the sum of their experiences - is extremely transphobic (specifically exorsexist and transmultiphobic). And that makes you a pretty sucky ally.

Did you know that not all transmascs are men? Did you know that not all trans men are/consider themselves transmasc? Did you know not all transmascs were AFAB? Did you know there are transmascs who are girls? Did you know there are transmascs who use it/its? Because sometimes I really don't fucking know if y'all do. And a lot of times, I don't think a lot of you believe in trans people who are not strictly FTM or MTF.

A lot of people see men as equating cis (het white abled) men, meaning that men is always an overprivileged group - which is so devoid of nuance and the reality in which all marginalized men live in.

Men instead is an umbrella in which cis men is under and has varying degrees of privilege and disprivilege attached to it.

People are so ready to throw "but trans men are MEN" back at trans men who are talking about all sorts of tragedies they face because they are both TRANS and MEN, but a lot of us don't and probably will* never gain the same social class status that a cis man has based off his Cisness and Manhood. Trans men are men, but trans men are not cis men.

*Before you reblog or reply with any sort of 'but I pass and have privilege' or what about 'x trans man,' read again until you can understand that I never said no trans man can gain gender privilege just that it is very unlikely for an individual at the intersection of man and trans to.

( I and many others have said this so many times. I'm hoping that maybe deconstructing like this will help people digest and understand this a little bit so trans men can point out the transphobia and misogyny that we face without having to continually fight with people about this - I know, how optimistic of me. )

As a transmasc person or a trans man, what is advice you give to other trans people like you (such as anti-"ace bandage," self defense, etc)?

Hey, so, you know that trans m&ms (men and mascs) would talk about more of the issues we face besides being denied healthcare if it wasn't such a hot topic right now.

You'd hear about other things we face, but it's kind of exhausting to go through all this and then be told it's "the only thing we talk about/face."

We face so much more and so many people talk about it, but sometimes we can focus on one issue because it's so big in the moment, and we hope to get through this, so please listen. Please.

I never hear about Mack Beggs at all. Like I was introduced to him (as a far away concept, not actually) almost 5 years ago and despite him being a trans man in wrestling (with transphobic laws pushed directly at him), I have not once heard about him online or in the trans community since.
