i have one!! though not technically lady whump (at least not until the future after transitioning) but i have an oc named jensen with sooooo much whump potential, the rundown is this:
up until 4 years before canon he was living happily with his wife and daughter but sadly lost his wife in a car accident. since then he has chronic pain in his leg and uses a cane to walk and his health has declined significantly due to grief :) in the present day his relationship with his daughter is strained and he struggles to deal with it because she (10 years old at the time her mother died) has started to resemble her mother as she grows up and it absolutely breaks jensen to see his wife's face in his daughter every day.
thats just the basics of course, there is so much more but i absolutely adore this character and would love to talk more about him :)
Hi everyone! I started this blog a bit ago but I went on a year or so hiatus from tumblr, so I wanted to introduce myself again!
I’m Abyss, I use both he and they pronouns
I’m really interested by themes of loss of autonomy (often via mindcontrol, possession or threats) trauma recovery, paranoia and, occassionaly, how gender identity fits into all that. I write fantasy, urban fantasy and superhero stuff, but I’m always happy to take requests and experiment! Some of my favorite tropes are
-Venom/Poison, esp if it causes hallucinations
-Defiant Whumpees
-Emotionally intimate/manipulative whumpers
-Possession/Mindcontrol
-Evil clones/reflections/aus of a character
-Power Loss
-Forced transformation
-Adventure and battles where the characters ultimately win, but they lose something in the process
I’m currently working on an urban fantasy project called Salt and Shadow about a girl who was abducted by a mermaid king and only recently escaped. Now back on the surface, she’s befriended a strange man with a moth mount and an overly confident warlock and they’re trying to help her deal with her anxiety and trauma, as well as her shadow, who sometimes looks like a person and growls at them. Part of this story is going to focus on the main character’s gender identity and how that evolves as she gains a support system and more confidence in herself.
And I’m working on a new ‘verse that spiritually follows X-Men and Maximum Ride abt mutants who are exploited by the government for their powers but mostly just want to be left alone. And they have wings! I’m hoping to do a lot of hurt/comfort with this concept
@the-wandering-whumper I love your blog and have gotten so many ideas from TAT. I hope it’s okay to tag you, I know that you and your followers have been looking for writers who are doing things other than pet whump and I wanted to throw my name into the ring
[[ CW: Box boy universe, violence, knife mention, abandonment, consistent misgendering of trans character.
First owner finally shows up. Anyone ask for angst? Anyone? Absolutely no one? Okay cool. ]]

She knows it’s going to happen. Master wouldn’t tell her, but it’s looming over her on the car ride to the facility. And what’s worse, he takes one look at her, in her wide-eyed despair, and he knows she knows. He doesn’t offer any reassurance.
Her hands are pressed tightly against her stomach, even though it’s already wrapped in gauze. Shallow cuts. The knife that caused them was sharp, but its wielder hadn’t had the guts to go through with a stabbing.
She almost wishes that they had.
Anything would be better than feeling so hopeless. She’d done everything right, been a model Box Babe for the whole month and a half she’d managed to stay. Pretty and open and obedient. Any home would be happier with a well-trained WRU pet.
Any home, except for this one.
When the car stops in the parking lot, she feels her stomach go cold. The clean, white building front brings back memories she never, ever wants to recall. She just wants to sit with him a while longer. Just a minute or two.
“Come on, Ginger, sweetheart,” he says. “It’s okay, we just need to get you taken care of. You don’t want those to scar, do you?”
“...No, sir.”
She wishes he’d stop pretending. Still, she slides out of the car and onto the pavement. It hurts to move. Master is carrying a big stack of papers and leads her inside gently, carefully, like he loves her. Like he’s safe. He’s the owner, and the owner is safe.
There’s a receptionist with long, blonde hair to greet them on the way in. It feels familiar, and for just a second, she thinks she’s going to puke.
“Hello, I made a medical appointment for my pet online? Had a little accident. She may need stitches, and I’d like to talk about scar prevention.”
Stop. Stop. Stop pretending.
Her hands are shaking, even as she smiles politely at the woman. It’s not so bad, the smile says. Everything’s fine here.
“What’re those for, sir?” she asks in a perfectly neutral tone, after they’re directed to the waiting area. He grips the papers imperceptibly tighter.
“Just some forms and health information. It’s our first time needing the clinic here, and they’ve got an awful lot of red tape.”
Stop it. Stop.
It’s not until they’re in the doctor’s office that she boils over. Not until the boring appointment is almost done, and she doesn’t need stitches, and someone in an administrator’s outfit comes in to ask if she can speak to Master alone for a moment. Master, her perfect Master, is getting up and following the lady out the door with his stack of forms. She can’t take it. She needs him. Her hand catches his sleeve, hard.
“Ginger?” He sounds shocked.
“Don’t,” her voice cracks unattractively on the first word. “Don’t… go. Don’t go.”
He laughs nervously.
“Ginger, honey, I’m only going to talk to her, I’ll be back in a—“
“Liar.”
The room freezes for a moment. Then, the administrator reaches for a black pager on her hip.
“You’re being ridiculous. Don’t make this difficult, Ginger, bad girl. Bad.”
She’s going to implode. Her body is trembling, but not from fear. The grip on his sleeve doesn’t waver.
“I’m not a bad girl. I’ve been so good for you, Master, you, y-you can’t, can’t, can’t go like this. You can’t. I need you,” she says, and her voice has never sounded like this before. All of the high-pitched airiness is gone, and what’s left is low and raw. She hadn’t known she could make a voice like that.
“Ginger,” he says carefully, “I’m going to leave the room. And when you’ve calmed down, I will come back in.”
“TO SAY GOODBYE?” she shouts, holding him in place with both hands now. “I’M NOT GOING HOME AFTER THIS. STOP LYING, MASTER, STOP IT STOP IT STOP.”
He’s never looked more uncomfortable as he pries one of her hands off finger-by-finger.
“Fucking hell, you have to stop this. What the fuck has gotten into you? Do you have to make it so difficult?”
“Please, please please please please,” she chants, quieter, but just as frantic. “I’m yours, I love you. I-I’ve been good. I know what happened, but you can’t leave. Please, Master, please, I can’t stay here. Do you know what they do to us here?”
“What the fuck does that mean?”
There are handlers swarming the room now, and she can’t calm down and be quiet and good in time. She knows it. It will mean a harsh punishment later, but she feels like she’s on fire and she hates all of them so much. This can’t be how it ends. She can’t be 592604 again, her name is Ginger. She has a home, even if it’s a horrible, stupid one.
So she kicks and thrashes against her refurbishment, and for a while, it almost seems to work. One of the handlers tries to get ahold of her hair. She turns and sinks her teeth into him. The strangled noise he gives makes her feel something new.
It takes two of them to pull her off of him in the end. One to hold her, the other to pry her hands off. She’s still writhing in their arms like a wild animal, trying to turn around and bite again. Her cowardly Master almost makes it out of the room unnoticed.
“PLEASE!” she wails one last time. He flinches visibly, though he doesn’t turn. “MASTER, PLEASE! PLEASE DON’T LEAVE ME HERE!”
He hurries out of the room, leaving her screaming wordlessly in frustration.
In canon, does Rowan ever eventually get free/retransition? I'd be a lot less squicked out by Rowan's forced detransition if I knew the story had a happy ending (although I also acknowledge that not every story has to be for everyone.) He's suffered an incredible amount of gender-based violence, so I think it would be interesting to watch him struggle to see himself as a man again after all of that.
yes! kind of.
i wouldn’t call it a happy ending, as i don’t plan on him ever getting away from tybalt, but he is eventually allowed to retransition under tybalt’s ownership. he still uses rowan’s conditioning to hurt him occasionally, but actually encourages him to reclaim his gender and old name.
a retransitioned rowan can be seen in this timeskip drabble (which i have not added to the masterlist oops). i do plan to explore that process a lot more later and hope this makes the series events easier to swallow lol. but as always please stay safe and be kind to yourself wrt reading whump!!
(aaaa I hate to misgender Rowan like this but he was processed as a box babe and referred to with she/her pronouns and the goal is to make them uncomfortable so I’m doing it) Rowan, do you consider yourself to be pretty?
[[ omg you’re good, he does indeed suffer a lot of indignity in canon.... so sad ]]
8/10
Rowan looks nervous as soon as the question is out.
“Yyyyes... yes, that’s my purpose, to be a good... a good, pretty g...” he balks, as if fighting with himself. The dejected look on his face says that he can never entirely win.
