Today in church, a woman shared her testimony acknowledging that one may have a bad day. or week. or month. or year. or decade. Possibly more. And that Jesus is with us in those times, as He is throughout our lives.

I want to see people the way Jesus does. He sees where we are and where we came from, yes. But He also sees where we can go.

He knows we are not defined by all our yesterdays, or even by today. We are defined by being children of God, and by our possibility for limitless tomorrows. His sacrifice is not just for those who appear to be perfect, but for all of us who so clearly are not.

"I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance" is not a condemnation of the sinner, but rather an invitation to come and be healed, cleansed and transformed through His great gift.

Glorious Transformation

All thanks, glory, honor and praise to the God of our salvation. He desires that our lives be transformed, and that we walk in newness of life. 

"Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ." (Philippians 1:6)

"And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God." (Philippians 1:9-11)

New Creations in Christ

This means that our knowledge of men can no longer be based on their outward lives (indeed, even though we knew Christ as a man we do not know him like that any longer). For if a man is in Christ he becomes a new person altogether—the past is finished and gone, everything has become fresh and new. All this is God’s doing, for he has reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ; and he has made us agents of the reconciliation. God was in Christ personally reconciling the world to himself—not counting their sins against them—and has commissioned us with the message of reconciliation. Every Christian has been called by God to be a witness of Christ Jesus. We witness, first of all, by doing our part to spread the good news of the great salvation we have in Christ. We also witness simply by living the new life we have in Christ in every area of life.
