Club Reverse Polarities | DJ Battle Nights
The nightclub throbs with bright tones and deep vibrations. UV reactive solvent sprays from the floor sprinklers to the ceiling, hits the frenetic clash of mechs dancing there, splashes against, clings to, and drips from plating and helms alike. Glowing solvent sprays with mech on mech collisions, and ultimately is called back down to the floor by natural-occurring gravity. It falls upon floor grates and the upraised faces watching below.
Someone, somewhere, is screaming. Altmode sirens blare and lightbars blink and flare.
The air vibrates with the whims of the reverse polarity DJ’s beats. The mech triggers a calvacade, a rising crescendo, and stabs it through the heart with a shriek of feedback. The shattering of the air bleeds and settles. At the break in the music the dancers on the ceiling freeze, sway in place, arms and hands extended toward the floor.
A few mechs flout the club rules and disengage their polarity cleats. Gravity ceases them and they drop and flip backwards to follow the solvent to the floor. Their pedes hit with a clatter amongst the rival DJs crew below. Those that don’t collide with anyone below land in a crouch and wait for the floor speakers to die down.
The floor speakers settle, the ceiling speakers light up, throttles twist wide open, and the club’s air is sucked downward into hundreds of combustion chambers. The natural polarity dancers leap up as one against gravity, racing to join their DJ’s imminent bass drop. Some are caught by their taller rivals above, but the floor grates vibrate and the foundations shake to the violent throes of their mass and their DJs bassline.
In the electroclash of the club’s massive space, nobody can hear Rumble scream. He’s hanging from the ceiling caught around the wrist; he’s missed the bass jump. Nearby, Frenzy wiggles and gyrates with the music, making the best of what they both think is a bad situation; suspended between the two dancefloors within the clutches of two datacables.
