BTW if you've read the skybound 28 chapter. imma be real annoying about that soon
I like to imagine there's a lot of lost literature surrounding sparklings. Its just been so long since it was really safe to have one, no one has learned how to handle them in billions of years, and now they've forgotten what to really...do with them.
You've got bots trying to give high grade energon to literal infants ("Its high grade, I think that makes it better for them"), thinking sparklings are broken when their alarms go off and repeatedly taking them to very tired medics who keep having to repeat that that loud beeping is telling you the kid needs attention, not a tune up.
I'm such a sucker for very plain domestic situations being turned into all-hands-on-deck debacles out of sheer unawareness of how to handle normal life after eons of war.
got some fuckshit going on in my life so drawing and making lore to cope when i have time
Transformers One Official Novelization Worldbuilding and Lore Bits
Thanks to the Transformers One movie novelization, here are some worldbuilding facts that weren’t explicitly shown in the movie!
About Iacon city:
Cog-less bots can only work as miners, though the tier system (described later) suggests that they can move up or down a ladder of limited job options
All cog-less bots were born after the disappearance of the Matrix of Leadership
No cog-less bot has seen the surface
thinking about the idea of declawing cybertronians who have claws (angst)
Flight frames having sharp claws to help them interact with objects more delicately, and it translates to their every day usage of objects; datapads from Vos are thinner and more sensitive to the smallest of touches because it's built for the tips of claws instead of blunt digits. Their claws are thinner, sharper, perfect to get into the seams of armor when preening.
Starscream having sharp claws, while Skyfire has duller ones.
Declawed bots have heavier hands. The tips of their digits are cut off and often they struggle with depth perception and sensitivity and press down on things far harder than they should, just so they know they're touching something.
Sentinel declawed Cinderhymn the second he got scratched over something small.
Cinder still struggles with feeling anything in the tips of his digits, and always slams doors when he doesn't mean to, or his hands shake and tremble when he focused and tries to be more gentle.
The superpowers a character has usually comes with usually had certain traits that come with it. Speedsters tend to be abit cocky, super strength is usually leaders, and invisibility usually comes with shyness.
But mirage isn’t like that at *all*. Mirage is an outgoing fashionista rich boy. But than why is his power going invisible?
I think it’s actually an allegory of how the war changed bots. Mirage before the war was aristocratic, and carries a lot of that high-society leisure with him. Before the war his life was decorated. He likes being seen. He’s extroverted. But because he can go invisible, he *has* to go invisible. He *has* to be a soldier because he HAD to choose a side. His ability as a soldier completely conflicts with who he is as a person. Thats tragic. anyway he should kiss skywarp or something
