I know he’s not the main character but shhh. After the simulation, they were all traumatised as SHIT. including Yuki, shit was hard for him too. Especially because he was hung and drawn more than once .. like ouch. Still, Kenji Quincy and Mitzuki have him something of theirs because it helped him cope. A few years later, he still kept them.
Me writing a traumatised character:
Chapter 1: gets a panic attack and looses consciousness (only slightly related to one another)
Chapter 2: gets another panic attack
Chapter 8: (approx. 2 days later) gets yet another panic attack
Same chapter: "I don't want to think about it unless I want to have a panic attack, which I don't. I think having two (doesn't remember the first one) in the span of barely a week is enough, thank you very much).
Chapter 13: (approx. 3-4 days later) gets another panic attack and hyperventilates to the point of loosing consciousness
And we're still not done yet 😂😂😂
my god, movies just love making characters who are POC, disabled or female, like...... so, so fucking traumatised. i know it’s been said a hundred times. but they’ll really give a horrific backstory to a character and then proceed to show it in graphic detail on screen. and then guess which character they’ll give very little real character arc to, and then kill off?
cause traumatised characters aren’t relatable to the target audience, you know. these shows are the types specially aimed at abled cishet white men. and when they portray trauma, it’s not for traumatised people. it’s for NT, mentally well, non-traumatised people to pity. or even hate, on occasion.
its generally inherently ableist tbh... plus often racist or sexist or awful in some other way, depending on various circumstances. idk mate, i’d just like to see one character i relate to survive. they can have trauma, of course they can have trauma! just let them live and be okay. no more self sacrifice. i’d like a traumatised character whose experiences are portrayed well or with any empathy to actual traumatised people. our lives aren’t fucking tragedies that were over before they started. we’re survivors, act like it.
