Today we say good bye to our beloved Oregon White Oak. Our most recent windstorm buffeted her tops and caused her to crack right between her trunks. She has been one of the great loves of my life, and I am torn apart by this loss. She was maybe two hundred years old, a vision of arboreal perfection, squirrel home, shade giver, old soul of the forest. She is the oak in the yard, my own Yggdrasil, an ancient grandmother who lives on in my art and my soul. She has taught me to stay rooted while I reach for the sky, and I hope to see her in the next world. May you dance with the bats once again in the great beyond, my love. . . . #oak #oaktree #oregonwhiteoak #treewitch #treemagic #cottagewitch #eclecticwitch #greenwitch #gardeningwithnatives #gardenlife #hedgewitch #littlestoriesofmylife #naturewitch #naturelover #nativeplants #oregonlife #plantgoals #villagewitch #treefriend (at Tigard, Oregon) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bxxr-YXH3tx/?igshid=16u3i9t6f6ual
