I was tagged by the talented @tripwirealarm. Thanks for thinking of me! :3
This is all Doctor Who, all the time, bebbie. And this might be a good time to let know those folks who are still waiting on prompt-fills from me: your prompts, though buried under a mountain of depression-inspired writer’s block, are not forgotten. <3
She was, if she was being honest with herself, a little disappointed that he believed her.
(A little what-if exploring a universe in which Rose was lying on Bad Wolf Bay. Rose/Ten & Rose/Tentoo, Teen, 11k words; angst, fluff, and canon divergence)
Lying on her back in a Dalek warship, Donna waits, patient, while her brain explodes in a fiery blaze. Her synapses rearrange, her neural pathways split and re-form, the capacity of her memory centers expand and grow until she thinks the pressure might rupture her skull. Through it all, she waits, because even amidst the overwhelming fear and pain, she knows that something wonderful is about to happen. Oh, something brilliant.
(Donna’s last thoughts before the conclusion of “Journey’s End.” Rose/Ten, implied Tentoo/River, 2k words; introspection and angst and what-ifs)
He thinks of energy transference and all of the reassuring quotes that nothing truly ends, and thinks perhaps that the universe can’t really be so cruel as this...maybe there's one crack left, just one small sliver in the universe where he could pull her through.
The white wall stands in front of him, unconcerned. He presses his ear against it.
There is nothing there, of course. It's just a wall.
(Missing scene from "Doomsday", from the Doctor's point of view. Prologue to the "Defenders of the Altverse" series. Rose/Ten & Rose/Tentoo, all ages, 2k words; angst, angst, and more angst)
Defenders of the Altverse, Episode I: Hitchhiker’s Map
“Was that a smile?” he teased.
(Immediately after "Journey's End", Rose and Tentoo need to solve the mystery behind the invisible threat that's killing off Torchwood staff one by one. Rose/Tentoo, all ages, 30k words; fluff, angst, adventure)
Minisode 1.5: Life off the TARDIS
Rose just stood in her kitchen, the biscuit wrapper idle in her hands, her thoughts ambling through her mind at a speed of precisely one mile per hour. This had to be some kind of strange dream, didn’t it?
(The morning after Hitchhiker’s Map, Rose and the metacrisis Doctor ponder the strangeness of their new life together. Rose/Tentoo, pure fluff, teen for mildly suggestive themes, 4k words)
A New Song For River (WIP)
River raises an eyebrow at him. “You’re more upset about your dessert than the fact that I killed you?”
The man adjusts his jacket. “I’m sure you had your reasons,” he says.
(An alternate take on River Song's mysterious past. River/Doctor, implied Rose/Doctor, adult for language mostly, 7k words so far; angst, fluff, and adventure)
She reaches the door before the Doctor feels his mouth open again.
Rose’s hand stills on the doorknob. “You want to live it, or you want to take it?” she asks without turning her head. When the Doctor doesn’t respond for a moment, she chances a look at him.
The Doctor feels his lips turn upward in a smile. A feral grin. Lots of teeth in it.
(What if the Hostess did not sacrifice herself at the end of Midnight, and the Entity survived? Canon-divergent, Rose/Ten, teen/mature for violence, 17k words; thriller, horror, angst, whump-ish. My personal fave of all the stuff I’ve written!)
Defenders of the Altverse, Episode II: The Saturn Initiative (WIP)
All of his new suits were blue, pinstriped, and nearly identical, and Jackie had heaved a sigh of resignation upon seeing his fabric choices, muttering something about how if he survived "Dar-leks" and the like, then surely a little bit of wardrobe variety wouldn’t kill him?
(At the urging of an old friend, Rose and Tentoo investigate the mysterious circumstances behind the explosion of a Torchwood lab. Rose/Tentoo, all ages, 6k words so far; fluff and fantasy/adventure)
The Doctor shoots her a questioning glance, eyebrow raised. “Not everyone needs gifts and cakes and streamers and funny little hats to celebrate a birthday. That’s a bit earth-centric, don’t you think?”
(Rose’s perfectly innocent question about the Doctor’s birthday leads to a bit of not-quite-so-innocent conversation. Rose/Ten, teen-ish, 4k words; very nearly tooth-rotting fluff)
Professional Detachment/Bedside Manner
Rose freezes. Oh, no. He’s going to figure it out any second. There’s nothing wrong with her. Nothing at all, except that her treacherous body is going to give her away.
(Three doctor’s examinations, two would-be lovebirds, and one long bit o’ fluff with a dab of smut on top. Rose/Ten & Rose/Tentoo, adult, 16k words; fluff and smut and just a smidge of angst)
A Thousand Ways to Say Goodbye (WIP)
He thinks about Romeo and Juliet, and all of the assorted clichés and tropes associated with that and other such similar stories, other doomed lovers and tragic romances. He thinks about how much he dislikes all of them. In particular, the phrase "star-crossed lovers" has always irritated him, grating on his nerves like sandpaper rubbing against the grain. Because the truth is, those characters earn their sad endings. They make poor decisions, rush headlong into ridiculous plots, miscommunicate intentions and refuse to tie up loose ends. Writers garner sympathy for young lovers who meet such melodramatic fates, but the fact is, they could have made better choices.
Their stories didn't have to end that way.
(The Doctor finds Rose again after Journey’s End, and he just can’t let her go. Rose/Ten, mentions of Rose/Tentoo, adult, 14k words; smut and fluff and mostly an excuse to write horrendously heart-wrenching angst)
It wasn’t necessary that he turn back around—she was sitting pretty behind closed doors, couldn’t see his face, wouldn’t ever know—but it was much easier for him to pretend he wasn’t a coward when she wasn’t looking.
(Angsty one-shot with implied Nine/Rose, 600 words)
Demi-Gods and Would-be Gods
But no god is flawless, no religion infallible, and if none of it can be truly perfect, he’d much rather turn his attentions elsewhere. The TARDIS is as good a church as any, after all–can’t beat those coral columns or that gentle meditative hum–and he’s hard-pressed to find any religion that inspires the same kind of awe that he feels when he steps out onto a new world for the first time, when he looks up and sees a sky full of unfamiliar stars.
(Rose and Tentoo find out what they believe in. Rose/Tentoo, adult, 6k words; introspection, fluff, angst, religious themes)
Total New Stories: 13 (well, 10 if you take into account the fact that 3 of them were technically written from 2012-2014 and it just took me forever to muster the guts to start posting stuff, lol)
Total New WIPs: 3 posted, and...10? languishing away on my computer, yikes
Total Words: just short of 120k excluding WIPs. Not too shabby! :3

@tiffosan I’ma tag you in an effort to get you to promote yourself (I know your list of stories is short but what can I say, quality over quantity!) and also @helplesslynerdy @abadplanwellexecuted @tenscupcake @wordsintimeandspace @julibellule you should do this too if you have not already done so/you feel like it! :3
