Is Trolltype canon anymore?
It never was. But it certainly reflects the writing style used in Homestuck more then in the recently released Hiveswap ... teaser?
Were you involved?
I have at no point been directly contacted by What Pumpkin. Maybe some of the stuff I posted influenced them, maybe not. Not enough out to be sure at this point. ( @sudrien would love to know, though )
Will you be making a new font?
Probably not. It looks like someone at What Pumpkin made a proper font - possibly more than one, I hope. I will probably seek to either link to a publicly available version, or ask to host a copy myself. I won’t be taking the old one down - not unless asked.
What do you think of the new script?
The punctuation - which I’m glad they have some - is positively runic. Clashes horribly. Which, historically, means trolls borrowed the very concept of punctuation from somewhere else.
Apparently they still haven’t gotten the concept of number symbols, by the sample.
For changing the symbols - yes, definite influence. But certainly more of an artistic than scholarly approach.
There is a slight chance this is an intentional mutilation of the Empress’ script, or a pidgin version. And there are such things as Grotesque fonts.
