the only important people to interact with a shane that couldnt possible have been thinking about exploring ilya's body are yuna and david hollander

hayden, jj, rose, his coaches, his teammates, any acquaintances past 2008

they would all ask "when did this start?" looking for a before and after to compare, only to realize there is no before, there was never a shane that wasn't meant for ilya

and same for ilya, his teammates, coaches, adult friends, etc. except added onto that is his copious hook-ups. so many one-night stands. but past about 2009 theres a 90% chance he thought about shane at least one (1) time during the encounter.

anyway food for thought basically at this point for over half their lives they have wanted/loved each other. the version of themselves they grew to be is unchangeably intertwined with the other because they grew up together and everything they learned about love was from each other. they are each other's first and only true love.
