Taylor Swift's Engagement Ring

Today Taylor Swift announced that she and Travis Kelce are engaged! Since I posted about some other celebrity engagement rings recently I thought it would be fun to look at hers.

The ring was created by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry, a NYC based jeweler. It features an elongated old mine cut diamond in a thin bezel setting of yellow gold.

Lubeck is known for her hand engraving so here are some other rings she has made to get an idea of what is on the sides until we get a better photo.

I love that older diamond cuts have been coming back in style the last few years and this is sure to give them a bigger boost. I’m generally not a fan of the modern brilliant cuts that try to have as many facets as possible so that all you can see is sparkle and not the diamond itself.

Also I’ve been watching the jewelers engraving videos on social media all day and can’t seem to stop.

Also the way she thought Travis didn’t want her to be on the field was also sad like you could tell she was scared from past experiences

Yes, they're so similar in that way - they don't care about sharing the limelight, in fact they relish it. Very much in the vein of the "we" mentality Jeslyn talked about in the documentary and that Travis' teammates have spoken about. They want their people with them to celebrate and also boost everyone else up.

It was one of the things that always struck me as odd in her relationship with Joe, because she'd always shown that she wanted her family involved. I think I said a few times that I was surprised or wouldn't want that myself, but at the end of the day, it's her life and choices and she managed to keep just how badly it was affecting her private for a long time. Obviously there were things that piqued attention over the years, but it was difficult to discuss them in good faith and I'm always cautious about crossing lines.

The "that's my whole world" TikTok she posted definitely came across as very pointed to me and I wasn't really surprised by the breakup in the end.

But ... look at her now! So much love and care and kindness in her life!
