Just a question about paying your own tuition. If you decide to pay it yourself for a semester, do you have to pay the whole amount at once, or can you do monthly payments as long as you pay it off by the end of the semester? Never done this before and just wondering. Thanks!!!

You have to pay it all by the deadline, otherwise you will accrue interest and you will be blocked from enrolling in further courses (e.g. summer courses in March if you’re planning on paying off by end of April).

lets say my tuition is is 10k, hiow much do i have to pay by end of first semester? 5k? or the full amount?

It would depend entirely on how many credits you have in each semester. It should say on your financial statement.You need to pay for your Fall/Year courses in September (so as not to get charged any interest) and then your Winter courses in January. If you have no Winter courses, then everything would be due in the Fall.

What happens when you don't pay the minimum by October 10?

Well, you actually should’ve paid the minimum amount by September 10, after that 1% interest is added each month.

I had initially taken a 100% course load and then dropped a course AFTER I had paid my minimum tuition for September. So after dropping the course, I saw that my remaining balance has decreased by at least $1000. do I request a refund or just assume that it's been deducted from my winter tuition payment?

It’s too late to request a refund for dropped Fall or Yearly courses. If you haven’t paid your Winter fee and you dropped a Winter course then there is no money that needs to be returned. The minimum amount owed in September only includes Fall and Yearly course fees.

Hi H, thank you so much for your quick response! If all my courses are full year courses, does that mean I only have to pay the minimum fee before the October 10 deadline and the remainder next semester? Or would I have to pay everything by October 10? Thank you again, I appreciate it! :)

Yes that means you’d have to pay everything by October 10th due to your Yearly courses.
