I was talking to my friend about LOTR (as one does) and the topic of how much Tolkien fans love a specific type of ship came up and she called it “fancy elf falls for grimy trash can boy” and I’ve never heard something so funny and yet so fucking accurate
If only we had gone together, I would have died with a heart beating in my chest. Oh, they drive me insane. The whole *dying on the same blade.* I will never recover. Since this is the First Age, I did want to make it look more ancient than Third Age Sindar fashion and took some influence from ancient Greece.
Some men will say I meant to kill my brother. The gods know it is a lie, but I will hear the whispers till the day I die.

every time I read “The Children of Húrin”, I think about the happy versions of Turin and Beleg who were never destined to be
