why

I picked up The New Tarot Handbook by Rachel Pollack the other day.  I have her 78 Degrees of Wisdom and love it so I wanted to continue to support her; I’ve been reading through it and I was drawn to the idea of the spreads she has for each card.

I haven’t done much tarot for a while.  And picking it up again, I feel like I am at a very different place in my life than I was.  I’m drawn to cards I never was before: High Priestess, Hermit, Death.  I want to explore in a focused way.  What can I learn?  I feel very withdrawn in a way that’s new for me.  Not introversion due to shyness, but a conscious choice to step back.

I was forced into a breakup that neither of us wanted, but a few months on I am realizing it was the right choice.  I’m rebuilding my relationship with my wife.  I’m reevaluating myself and who I am and what I want.  I never liked to read for myself much, but now I want to put in that difficult work of turning in and sitting with the discomfort and confusion.
