I don't normally do this...
But for Bella, my pup, I will.
(WARNING: TMI dog potty habit talk. Skip the next bold to skip to the part about my book's being on sale.)
Bella has been having the runs since Tuesday. Her stool was a bit loose on Sunday, which we chalked up to her having a Ham bone for Easter. {She did not get bone fragments or anything like that, just the bone to tear the meat from.} Tuesday came, and she had the runs, full on after I got home from running an errand (she didn't poop in her cage, just after I let her outside.) It by Tuesday dinner it was "projectile" runs, and she had to go out ever 1-2 hours.
Wednesday, I called the vet. They said to take her food and water away for the day then slowly reintroduce it on Thursday, got an appointment for Thursday afternoon. Appointment came, still having issues, so he gave her antibiotics, probiotics, and special food to eat.
She ate the gobbled the food down at dinner, with the antibiotics and probiotics too. Friday, a little improvement, it was more sludge than projectile runs, and she was refusing to eat the new food. So, I called the vet. They suggested putting it in the microwave for a little while and if that didn't work add some chicken broth. I tried both, still nothing. I tried combining it with her kibble, she ate the kibble and dropped the other stuff.
Friday afternoon: hubby and I went to see Star Wars 3 in theaters as we bought the tickets before she got sick and couldn't refund them, plus she was acting fine besides the runs. She was in her cage with a towel down because I knew she'd have issues. Friday night, we tried the special food again. No dice, so we just gave her kibble. She was also very tired from being in the cage, thinking she'd be in trouble for not being able to hold it, and just normal tired from being in there. (she's an anxious pupper)
Friday night: our washing machine also started to leak and I had a full on breakdown, crying and cleaning out the laundry room. (found out Saturday morning it's the pipes/drain not the machine, so landlord issue. 😣)
Friday into Saturday: she was up every 2-3 hours to go potty, which has been since Tuesday, so I've had very little sleep as it takes me quite a while to get to sleep or back to sleep. So, I am/was severely sleep deprived.
(You can come back now, if you're scrolling for the end of the poop discussion)
However, I got to sleep in and Hubby took care of her after 5 am Saturday morning. After finally getting good sleep, I'm still worried about Bella, and I know that we have to go back to the vet this week, and I'm going to be sleep deprived until we get her back to normal.
⬇️If you can/want to help, here's how:⬇️
In preparation for Vet bills, I want to remind everyone that the first 3 books of the Kalista Chronicles are 50% off on itch.io in celebration of the Omnibus releasing in June. Get them for $4.44 USD.
Or you can get all 10 of the eBooks for $25 on my website, or each series (5 books in each) for $13 a piece (same listing different option.
If you'd like to read a snippet/few chapters first, there are 5 chapters of The Stained Angel {Book one of the Created Angel Novels} and A Born Angel {Book one of the Kalista Chronicles} on my website too.
If you like physical copies and don't mind old editions, scratches, dents, or faded printing, I also have a "Scratch and Dent" listing on my website too.
Please, pass this along if you can't buy... I really need to move some books to help pay for her vet bill. Thank you in advance!
~ Sincerely,
A panicking dog mom who has ptsd from losing her first pup to a birth defect at 5 years old, and doesn't want to lose Bella at only 3. 😭
