No reason, I just paused and god is there a reason why he looks so fine with his face all slashed?
Source Analysis
So, I read another story where Scott McCall is scolded for black-and-white thinking. It’s frustrating and entertaining for two ways, because while they can write anything they want, it’s very telling about the lack of intellectual rigor of the writer, because:
1. Scott McCall does not exhibit black-and-white thinking in the entire show. He’s more than willing to befriend and cooperate with people whose philosophies he opposes (the Argents, Derek, Peter, Deucalion, the Calaveras, Theo) and he has more than once exhibited a willingness to overlook actions that he would personally not take (in Master Plan, in Frayed, in Monstrous, in Apotheosis.) That there are lines he will not cross, such as killing victims of mutilation and mental violation who lack control of themselves such as Stiles (Season 3b) and Donovan (Season 5a), and he will not allow others to cross, does not make him a black-and-white thinker.
2.The sole source of the ‘black-and-white thinking’ attribute is that paragon of speaking plainly and never seeking to manipulate others, Peter Hale. It’s hilarious because he levels that insult in a scene in which he demonstrates his blatant disregard for everything for which he supposedly stands. Let’s go to the tape:
Peter: … It just means that Boyd and Cora are gonna kill a few innocent people first.
Derek: And I should just let them? I should be okay with innocent people dying?
Peter: Unless you're okay killing your own.
Derek: I can catch them.
Peter: Oh, come on. How much damage can they do? So they off a few homeless people, a drunk stumbling out of a bar too late. So what? Let Scott deal with it. Let him be the hero of his morally black and white world. The real survivors, you and I, we live in shades of gray. Then again, even if you did kill them, you're still an Alpha. You can always make more werewolves.
Remember, to many people, this is the alpha that Beacon Hills needs. This is the alpha who understands pack better than anyone and who will do anything for his family and the people close to him. Except, maybe risk his own life in any way to save his niece. He’d allow his niece and a member of the pack to endure the pain of slaughtering innocents at the Demon Wolf’s instigation rather than risk one thread of his designer jacket -- after all, their victims won’t be family. Or, it’s okay with him if Derek just kills them. After all, power is power.
If anyone wants to claim that Scott McCall thinks in black-and-white, I also want them to scold Stiles for feeling bad for killing all those people he did while possessed by the nogitsune. After all, Peter Hale does not approve.

What do I tell Scott?
Once a week you drag me out of bed like I'm some sort of supernatural metal detector. Okay, it is way more often than that!
