So I had to sell a very large portion of my Pokémon card collection back at the beginning of May to help pay for my cat Skunk’s hospitalization when he was in heart failure. I sold about $5k worth of some of my favorites, and as depressing as it was since I love collecting so much, my cat is still more important and I love him more. I’ve been behaving with the buying of more cards while I try to pay off the $9k debt of what was left.
Today after work, I wanted to treat myself a little for getting through the week. A little flea market I have near my house sells lots of sealed packs (for outrageous prices - $35 for ONE Ascended Heroes pack. They’re crooks tbh) and I picked up two Twilight Masquerade packs because there’s a handful of cards I don’t have yet. I sat in my car and opened them, and I was regretting spending almost $30 on these packs when I doubt I’m ever going to finish the Twilight Masquerade set because some of the cards are so expensive.
This is what I pulled out of the second pack.
SO GLAD I STOPPED. A $375 CARD.
