PokeToons (counting both seasons here)
Pokemon Concierge
Origins has a bit of an advantage over the others with being full episodes, and the iconic scene where Charizard Mega Evolved into Mega Charizard X (which iirc was a surprise at the time), but I gotta give it to Generations given that its focus on every region (more than Evolutions did) and seeing how they portrayed the villains and how terrifying Legendary Pokemon are (which, tbf, we did get in Evolutions, like showing Lusamine having been beat up by Necrozma and showing Leon has PTSD from Eternatus). PokeToons is a #2 to me, I like the variety in stories we've gotten and a lot of the episodes were pretty funny/cute.
Twilight wings redraw :)
Still so in love with Nessa’s episode in Twilight Wings
I'm trying to think about how to theoretically rewrite Leon's appearances in SWSH to feel more like 'a ghost haunting the narrative' rather than just a lack of presence as it comes across.
More like Twilight Wings did it, where Leon's shadow loomed over (almost) every episode.
But to be fair, a game where the player is an active participant, and that takes at least several hours to finish needs different pacing from a TV mini-series with short episodes! I can't just transfer concepts, I need to adapt them to the different format and medium!
One of the ideas I have is that Leon left little travel-logs in the guestbooks of places he stayed, all over Galar while he was on his gym run. Hop's the one who finds them and starts a treasure hunt because he's curious. He reads them to the player character.
Leon never signed them, and his handwriting has changed a lot since he was a kid. Hop doesn't recognize it as Leon's. Plus the writing just doesn't 'sound' like the picture he has of his brother in his mind. But there are several hints that foreshadow this, until maybe Sonia around half of the story spots the entry Hop's reading and recognizes in on sight.
When they compare them to his recent entries, the more recent ones feel... lifeless? Not mature but empty, without the zest and energy of when he wrote inside as a child.
Another idea: Implementing the interviews from Twilight Wings, where the paparazzi hounded the gym leaders about Leon before the current gym season started. Replays. You never catch the one with Opal until some time later into the game, when you already have a feeling that nobody knows Leon as a person anymore.
We also need a poignant scene in a graveyard, For Multiple Themes and Characters. If it relates to Leon in some way, it'd be a bonus.
