If you don’t want to write TWO PAGES of essay for a test (TWO. PAGES. Double spaced.) just don’t be an English major but definitely don’t whine to me about how you haaaaad to get help from ai because it was tooooo hardddd.
This actually made me tear up shortly after reading it. I swear, i've been getting incredibly sensitive lately. Never made a post about this, but i've been crying at really random times for the past few months. But...I felt Luthor's pain, so now I need to explain his pain to you. The comics describe it fine, but I have a lot of words right now. Also, I now have so much respect for Mark Millar. He's writing tv show tie-in comics, but he writes with so much emotion and power...one of his other issues made me feel super emotional too. But now, to explain Lex Luthor:
Lex Luthor was a kid who grew up poor. He never had a gift of physical strength, but he always had his brain. Using his ingenuity and cleverness, he became a hero to the people of Metropolis. A philanthropist, a man improving the lives of those in the city. He thought he'd finally proved himself. He wasn't a failure. He wasn't that poor boy from the slums anymore. Finally, he was respected. admired. envied.
But then Superman shows up. And Superman (in lex's eyes) is just a strong alien who had the world handed to him on a silver platter. He never worked to get where he is! He never struggled! He just has powers from the sun! Lex was a genius! He worked for his fame. Superman gets it just because he's got "special powers". Lex Luthor tried to brush it all off as Superman being an idiot who relied on his strength and powers, but in this issue...the unthinkable happens: Superman beats Luthor intellectually. I'll continue this below the image now. (Superman Adventures #52):
With Superman beating Luthor intellectually, that means that the one thing Lex Luthor thought he had (his intellect) is actually...is actually nothing. It's all a tower of lies! He's...He's got nothing! This...this superman has taken everything from him! This man, once so confident and self assured, has lost himself to mania and depression. And then that final page hits like a goddamn masterpiece in drawing. If it could make me cry and feel so sad...then they're doing something right. Lex Luthor is a man who just wants respect and external validation, but he never finds it. It's a tragedy.
A trails leads into your blog, followed by a lil Poppy! Can you help her find the owner of the tracks?
((Hiii~ your Den and Beast doodles are so cute! I love seeing people draw em as like big cats. It's really cute! Hope you're having a good one!))
Read left to right
Poppy continues their search for Thorn and finds the local (not quite) bird population...
Poppy is back on the trail with renewed confidence! The local Opportunist was not so lucky, oh well.
(Thank you for the kind words!! They've always been my favorites so I give them silly doodles. I think your voice designs are super cool. Oppy was fun to draw! Speaking of your oppy-)
Undertale/Deltarune FanComics
I put out a post for some UTDR comic recs, and I've decided to compile them all here, both so that I can easily access them as I make my way through, and also so that anyone else who is interested in it can also check it out :D I've provided brief descriptions next the ones I could uh quickly find descriptions for or knew personally, so if you notice one you know that's lacking a descriptions, tell me and I'll add it.
Also if you think this list would benefit from further categorization in some way, let me know! Right now it's a bit of a mess and overwhelming lol.
I'll also be updating this with new (or old lol) comics if anyone has more suggestions!
Edit: I’m making a collection blog, @utdrlibrary, that way one can go through the posts for which comic sounds interesting, instead of scrolling through a messy list lol. I’m still working getting the comics from this post up on the blog
(a 🌟 next to a comic means that I have personally read and recommend it ^-^ )
People like to shit on Ethan for switching sides all the time but he's pretty much the only one who cuts the cryptic bullshit and just. Tells people stuff. Like Percy asked who he was and Ethan replied with his full name and intentions. He also tells him the whole deal with his eye and mum after barely any prompting even though he was clearly uncomfortable when he was asked about it earlier. Chiron could never. Neither could anyone else for that matter.
