#1 on the writing questions?

Of the fics you’ve written, which is your favorite and why?

up until the last couple days, it would have been come back home, but i’ve really been feeling piece of your heart lately. i loved writing it, and the story just kind of happened, and it felt so natural. i had a lot of fun outlining, and i was really proud of the result. there’s these two paragraphs in part two that i absolutely adore as well:

He did it for the same reason you all had a vice. Steve had his violent outbursts. You knew another guy in the DEA who would never admit it, but smoked marijuana. There was a CIA agent who spent his weekends out in the jungle, shooting at almost any living thing. You spent all your spare money on stupid trinkets and makeup and little things you’d never use during long trips to malls and markets. Some people ate their feelings. Some people didn’t eat at all. Some people drank. Many more smoked. A lot. It’s all so you can forget the things you’re forced to do.

Down here in Colombia, there are no good guys. That much you learned in the first few weeks. You have to either find a way to forgive yourself or numb yourself enough so you don’t feel the guilt.

Revolting was an understatement of the century. Miranda abhored the likes of Milena's ilk, their weak flesh and some sharing a similar orientation no matter how it came to be. All of it a necessary sacrifice to make ends meet if she wanted her one true child to be born anew amongst the fleshy blooms of the megamycete.

"Do you? Or do you find yourself Inadequate?" After all, if beauty was in the eye of the beholder whether vain or something darker and hungrier, than what better way to glimpse at oneself then through the village mother herself? Milena would not like what she'd see in either case.

"iepure mic, if I found you revolting, then the entire village might as well be likened to a corpse spoiling under a hot sun."

For awhile, Diego and Five were paired together in training and Reginald even planned to pair them on missions until it became glaringly obvious that the two of them together would cause problems. Both Five and Diego are skeptical by nature and have a tendency to follow their own idea of what should be done. That being good or bad is besides the point. The issue for Reginald was that it lessened his control over them and if the two were allowed to continue creating this bond of sorts....it could mean chaos later on down the line.

Meta: treasure

Words for HC/Meta

The first time Steve reads Treasure Island, he’s 11 years old. He gets the book from a teacher at school and he finishes it in two days, completely fascinated by the world he’s been introduced to. It’s fascinating to him. Pirates, treasure, deception and mystery. He reads it two more times before the portraits come. It’s a fun challenge for himself. Drawing faces without a subject to look at. Sure, he’s sketched his mother, sketched Bucky and kids at school but now…now he’s drawing from just a description. From his mind’s interpretation. The first one he tries is Billy Bones. It takes Steve two weeks to complete because he keeps starting over, doesn’t like how the nose looks, doesn’t like how his mind is projecting the face onto the paper. His mother tells him it’s good. She’s supposed to say that though is the thought he has as he tosses the fifth draft in the trash. He keeps trying though and finally it clicks. The picture comes together and Steve is…pleased. He’s done it. He’s created something realistic from his own memory. It’s an accomplishment that he hadn’t known he was looking for and for the first time, Steve almost wants to brag over his own work. Almost.

What type of discipline was your character subjected to at home? Strict? Lenient?

⚛————————WHAT IS DISCIPLINE? Growing up being raised essentially by Jane Foster and Darcy Lewis…they had a home that was more about free expression. Jane wasn’t lenient but she definitely wasn’t strict. Though, to be fair, Nate was a pretty good kid. He grew up needing to be and the older he got the more he was the disciplinarian. Telling his mom to go to bed, that she could finish her last few sentences in the morning. Pulling the laptop away and pushing the food in front of her. But the few times that Nate needed discipline, Jane tried to be compassionate and understand why Nate did what he did and give him an appropriate punishment. Which was usually keeping him inside, especially when they were in a new place because all Nate wanted to do as a kid was run wild and climb trees.
