Currently Reading: If we are counting reading textbooks/journal articles/reviews, then I am up to my neck in them for an upcoming paper. In terms of reading a proper book, I havent read any since... 2019? The last I fully read was ‘This is the Way the World Ends’. I’ve been able to read AO3 fanfics, and fell into 911 Buddie fics hard but now I have such a backlog from Whump/kink-tober (which hey I am not complaining about!)

Last Song: Palace by The Antlers

Last Movie: Thor Love and Thunder - Not my favourite Thor but I did enjoy it, it’s been a while since I watched some MCU content in the cinema.

Last Series: 9-1-1 (Second watch, now I am introducing it to my boyfriend - who watched Bucks ‘This is Eddies, Im not a guest’ scene and almost choked on the pie he was eating because he started laughing so hard at how blatant the Buddie is)

Currently working on: A 911 halloween fic based on this news footage (but also because the first 5 seconds make me laugh every single time), and a 911 season 6 Buck spec fic based on this song, and all the behind the scenes we have had so far... (with a lot of gratuitious stag dreams because I am a fan of nbc Hannibal and Will’s nightmare stag hallucinations.)

Seven Sentence Sunday

A massive thank you to @mellaithwen firstly for tagging me, and secondly for talking about 911, and then watching from a far as I fell head first into the funky gay fireman show - I have not known peace since! TY Amy!

Now anyone who’s followed me for ages will know I usually plot bounce, and not actually write despite really wanting to and having many fic ideas. I’ve finally tried my hand at it and it seems to be going surprisingly okay...

This is a part of a 911 Buddie fic im writing affectionatly called “Schrodingers Buck - or “How Christopher Diaz proved to Class 6A that his Buck is not just his imaginary friend“

“My friends don’t think your real.” Chris states, eyes locked on the TV as he taps the final buttons needed for his combo – the buff-looking character on the screen sending a flurry of punches and kicks into Bucks beleaguered avatar. The room brightens as a quick flash of “K.O.” fills the screen.

Buck frowns, dropping the controller onto the low coffee table, and twisting to face Chris. He looks cosy, Chris thinks, in the blue jumper he left here and never took back to his loft, the one he knows his Dad keeps neatly folded on the top of his dresser drawers until Buck comes round.

“Oh? So, if I’m not real, I guess this means I couldn’t do this”

The frown on Bucks face gives way to a gleam of mischief as his fingers find Chris’ ribs. The laughter bubbles out before Chris can pull away, his shoulder shaking and hands pushing at the softness of Buck’s jumper. He wants to tell him he’s too old for this now, but Bucks laughing too, and he doesn’t want the moment to stop. Panting, Chris manages to wiggle his way up the back of the couch, as Buck leans back and grins, eyes crinkling and teeth gleaming.

Glancing up, Chris can see his Dad just beyond the doorframe, leaning and taking in the scene in the living room. As Buck catches his dad’s eye, he’s sure he can see a hint of red creep up his Dad’s neck.

The two were deep enough in their own little world for Chris to roll his eyes and no one to scowl at him. They acted just like Miles and Sofiya did in the schoolyard, blushing at every glance, hanging off every word.

Chris really hoped they sorted themselves out before he had to get involved. Adults were so weird at times, not talking when they both really really should.
