once again the algorithm is filled with people hyping and/or dogging netflix’s ao3 adaptation following the atla trailer release for season… 2?

what i don’t understand is, season 1 had quite literally zero impact on pop culture. did not shift the needle at all. not a single canon change has had any impact on literally anything outside of fandom circles. not even in. i still don’t know what a scarf scene is. to this day, none of my irls have ever brought it up when we all grew up watching the original and i know they all have netflix ☠️

so i’m not understanding why this is something that deserves attention: positive or negative? the creators are not even attached anymore, so there’s no longer anything giving it any validity or worthy of discourse.

thinking about Julie going into hibernation, but also how she was participating in winter activities and was at the Homewarming party.

obv an in-universe excuse is writing inconsistency within the show but nahh. i wanna get sad.

My headcanon is that Julie begins hibernation after the Homewarming party. Right after. And later in the evening it turns into a different party, Julie's Goodnight Party (name in progress).

It's fun, because any party with this rainbow monster's name in it is gonna be fun! but there's an underlying somberness. They eat, play games and talk about everything and anything like the Homewarming party, but it just feels different.

When Julie starts getting sleepy, the party ends with her neighbors giving their farewells, goodnights, and big hugs.

Frank is the one to walk her home, of course. He brushes Julie's hair, makes sure her and her nest has everything she needs, and stays with her as she falls asleep. But not before they share a big, comforting, long hug filled with every unspoken "I'll miss you" and every ounce of love they can pour into it.

It's the longest Frank has ever hugged anybody. "A hug long enough to get him through winter," according to Julie.

He wished that were true.

Either way he smiles, he smiles for Julie as it's the last expression she sees before finally closing her eyes to sleep.

The tears that later soaked into his pillow are the only secret Frank's ever kept from his best friend.

idk like i guess...i know that people, esp transphobes, like to use “socialization” as a weapon and so i dont want to come off like that’s at all my intention in saying this, people who use that as an excuse to dismiss trans people are scumfucks, but i personally can’t dismiss the way i was raised, as an afab person, even when my identity has shifted from that of a cis woman. you know. like no matter where i end up, genderfluid or trans masc or a full on trans man, the things i was led to believe and internalize about myself and the way things worked for me as the girl i was supposed to be will always follow me. i’ll always feel strongly in that regard

idk this is a weird line to toe like i said. bc people will use it on trans women a lot to say that they were raised as men and so they’ll always be misogynistic (even though they are women, so thatd be internalized, which like, every woman deals with). but thats fucking stupid. and like. i don’t want to say that it’s not true for trans women but true for trans men? i dont know. i think it’s just complicated. sometimes things are complicated and that’s just how it is
