STI test reminder! If you are sexually active, getting tested every 3 months is a fantastic way to keep track of your sexual health and give you time to get needed treatment and make a plan! I got mine done today and it was all free, if you need help finding a place to get tested, reach out! And if you DM proof you got tested or scheduled your appointment I’ll send the stickerless and more cheeky version of this pic as an incentive 😘

On June 23, 2017, I was diagnosed with HIV. 

This picture was taken on my first day of treatment – July 26th, 2017. 

I am now undetectable (therefore untransmittable) and have been for some time thanks to great medication (Genvoya) along with emotional support from my family and closest friends. 

It has been a very rough and tough past couple of weeks but I wanted to make this post to let you know that it does get better. There are people in your life who love you unconditionally and will be there for you through the ups and downs. 

I hope there are not, but there may be people who tell you very hurtful things when you tell them your status. They are not worth being in your life. Those who lack the willingness to learn and educate themselves do not deserve your time and energy. 

Undetectable is a reachable goal. You are not a weapon. You are strong. You are the same, wonderful person you have always been and will live the rest of your full and joyous life as normal. 

There will be hard times. But you can get through it. 

I’m posting this because I couldn’t find an online community outside of Poz.com (great, btw). Any of you who are recently diagnosed and just need someone to talk to are always welcome to message me. My inbox is open. 

This is a journey that we are on together.

First sample for a new, free collection of patterns I'm working on and planning to release for World AIDS Day (December 1).

A million thanks to @queerforscience for suggesting both a Haring homage and the U=U campaign, which is to say, for effectively co-authoring this Patch and charting a course for an entire collection!

Free crochet patterns for 7 interlocking/double filet motifs — to let everybody know that treatment is prevention, to observe and celebrate World AIDS Day. [Direct link to PDF, 5.9mb]

The collection includes advanced and more beginner-friendly patterns, and you can use any yarn or crochet thread that you have already. The PDF also includes documentation for the technique, but if you're feeling overwhelmed, I recommend you head straight to the patterns and see if you can't just make it like the pictures. Here's one:
