Now, this one is actually comics that have to do with the Olympic games. Asterix, Obelix, and the rest of the Guals have entered the games (they’re going up against Gluteus Maximus, sorry…. I need a second, I’m laughing so hard I’m crying at that name… Okay, okay, good to go now). The thing is though, their plan is to use a potion to win. But, what we know as PEDs aren’t allowed to be used, and so… now, with not one of them having actually trained for the games… can they still win events?
So, apparently it was originally published in 1968 (Mexico City Olympics) and then translated into English in 1972 (the Munich Olympics), and, weirdly it still works. There’s lots of cool references to Greek culture, to the Olympics, and it’s just so funny. A fun read.
