Dog park day | Umari and Uzi
“Haru, you’re all puffed up cat style again. You don’t have to look through my scrapbooks if it’s gonna give you romance-induced hives,” I let out a laugh, moving to grab the heaping mass of memories from his hands. I barely get an inch in before he twitches and holds it far enough away that I can’t reach it.
“It’s fine! As long as most of the pages aren’t as lovey dovey as this one,” Sakura frowns, feeling his flush crawling down the back of his neck. “Do ya always leave spaces for Umemiya to add his stuff too?” His finger pokes at the little tomato sticker and moves to drag over the pumpkin that are both Hajime and me respectively.
“When I first started doing it I didn’t,” I hum, thinking back on it, “…but he asked if he could help one day and he looked so happy adding to it that I leave spaces just in case. It feels pretty great when I write something on there and he writes something back when I’m not looking, or when it gets completely full of stuff that are parts of both of us.” I smile, rereading the small comments before I look back to Haruka, his expression pensive.
“Guess it must…am I in here at all? I mean, I’m not askin’ to be. It just seems like there’s a bunch of people in here” he says, a thumb lifting the heavy pages.
Perking up immediately, I lean over and flip the book further back to a picture of me and him fighting, a candid Kiryuu managed to snap one day when we were both trying to navigate with our phones during a trip. It’s peppered with other pictures, along with a menu from the takeout place we ordered from, but there’s still room for improvement.
“Of course! I’ve only half filled it, so if you wanna do a little scrapbooking with me, I think we can finish this page before the rest of the party guests gets here. Haji’ll be home in a few with the food and drinks, so I suggest getting to work before he starts trying to help you. Go nuts lil bro!” I cheer, popping my box of stickers and notes and markers on the couch, the sound rattling and spooking the no longer sleeping cat in the armchair nearby.
“J-jeez! I’m workin’ I’m workin’!”
