The Good: Simplistic plot. Great pacing. Breaking the 3 hours into story arcs was a welcome effect. Cast shines as a whole rather than individuals.
The Bad: Some subplots seem needless and just fluff and no substance.
Storyline:
A multiracial Kano baseball team from southern Taiwan overcoming extreme odds to represent the island in the 1931 Japanese High School Baseball Championship at Koshien Stadium, when Taiwan was still under Japanese rule. Performing beyond all expectations, the underdog team advanced to the championship game in the tournament
